This should have been a no-brainer. The NCSPCA has been around for decades to serve the area. There was no comparing that to a facility that doesn't exist. Although Eastern Niagara's heart is in the right place, they put the cart before the horse. Eastern Niagara did alot of lip service in trying to discredit the Niagara SPCA by talking bad about people involved with them. Thats too bad. They are all in the same fight: for the animals. Also, depending on which end of the city you clocked your mileage from, it's 13 miles, not 16. An "Amherst" vet office IS NOT a central location for Niagara County residents and having spaying & neutering done in Ellicottville....what sense does that make. The responsibility of driving these animals around & foster homes is just too much of a liability for all involved. I would not donate my time to go to Ellicottville when many vets are closer. Eastern Niagara offered no more perks then is already available to the public, people just need to look around & ask.
There are so many animal welfare agencies already we just don't need another one. At least not one that just has a name only with no track record. I stand behind the city and NC SPCA who already has a good record. Let's compare apples to apples, not apples with a lemon. Thank You.
