ELIZABETHTOWN — The Essex County Youth Bureau is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.

Free meals will be provided to all children 18 years and under, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Meals will be provided at several sites around the county.

OPEN SITES
Meals will be available July 6 to Aug. 7 to all children in the area at CVES, Plank Road, Mineville, with breakfast, Monday through Friday, 9 to 9:15 a.m.; and lunch, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

At some sites, meals are served only to children who have enrolled.

Meals are free of charge to all eligible children; they must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program.

Children who are part of households that receive food stamps or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals.

The enrolled sites are:

Bloomingdale Fire House: Lunch, Monday through Friday, noon to 1 p.m., July 6 to Aug. 14.

Petrova Elementary School, Saranac Lake: Lunch, Monday through Friday, noon to 1 p.m., July 6 to Aug. 14.

My gosh is that the only facility in Ti? There is the armory, St. Mary's, the Mthodist Church and probably other places I can't think of at the moment that might work for free lunches. Just a matter of checking out things, Oh, how about the fire house, that should also work. Just a thought.

Mr. D can you look into this for our kids?

I called Mr. D. and to have a breakfast and lunch program you need, by state requirements, a number of kitchen appliances that only a cafeteria like the school can meet. Crown point also had to cancel their lunch and breakfast program since they do not have the facility. I am sure this can be confirmed by the youth bureau. I think Angela MacAlpine tried to bring the food program to Ti but was unsucessful due to the state requirements.

St. Mary's school has a cafeteria. Just a thought.

What is the Armory being used for these days? Just curious.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Capricorn

Mercury retrograde in your sign will cause some friction between you and other people during coming weeks. Matters that have been bubbling away in the background will come to the boil, forcing you to do something about them. Try not to overreact, nor to create a crisis out of something that's really very minor. You should also keep a strong sense of fair play and pay attention to every little detail.
