There is a saying I've heard all my life that says some good comes out of everything. I guess it depends on what your part of “everything” was. The frivolous Slapp lawsuit that Titan filed against Dr. David Hill and Kayne Darrell is a case in point. That our Country and State allows lawsuits such as these is inexcusable. Two citizens subjected to over a year of “HELL” by a foreign corporation that then drops the suit when they got all the mileage they could before losing in open court. A year of intimidation and character assassination. I hope everyone is paying close attention. This foreign corporation called Titan has given all of us a crystal clear picture as to how they think and do. This is not a picture I want added to my community. This lawsuit also gave us an example of both sides of the law profession. On Titan's side you have the law firm of Williams Mullen, a firm that will represent foreign corporations against the citizens of their own country. In days gone by this would have been considered treason, but I guess in today's society the almighty dollar, for some law firms, trumps all. Want to have some fun? Google the Williams Mullen law firm, it might just give you a complete understanding of why Titan would choose them as their representatives. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions. The law firm on Dr. Hill and Kayne Darrell's side was totally different. The firm of Shipman and Wright worked tirelessly in this fight against this foreign invader, and did so without feeling the need to bankrupt their clients. I have been guilty of casting all lawyers in a bad light before, especially when dealing with people like Titan hired, but The Law Firm of Shipman and Wright proves why this is not fair. They are a class act, a firm the law profession can be proud of. The Law Firm of Shipman and Wright is the silver lining that emerged from a situation that never should have occurred.
