I'm looking for American citizens who have lived in military bases in France up to the sixties. I'd like to listen to their memories, possibly see some old pics. If I can get in touch with a sufficent amount of persons, I'd like to write a book about these specific circunstances.
Looking forward to hear from you Sincerely, Philippe |
Hi Philippe I am actually looking for someone who was in the france military in the sixties. He was actually stationed in Fort Bliss, El Paso Texas. If there is an avenue you can suggest that can help me I would really appreciate it. Good luck to you. |

Hi: I was age 4-5 and lived in France in 1957-59. My father was a Captain on an American Military Base there. I have some vivid recollections however, I have been trying hard to piece together where specifically we lived as both mom and dad are deceased and their records were destroyed in a flood in '69.

Bonjour Philippe,
I lived in Paris from 1965-1967 while my father worked at Camp de Loges. I've returned to Paris several times in the past 5 years and, although I did not look for that former base, I did tour the apartments where we lived (in La Celle Saint Cloud). The only other location in Paris that I found from the 1960s was a former American officers club on Rue Marbeuf. |

My father worked as a civilian at the Poitiers Army Post from 1958 to 1965. We lived in town, not in Army housing, and I went to French schools part of the time. It was a wonderful experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

My dad worked at Camp de Loge also from 1959-1960. We lived in army housing in or near Fuecherolles. I was age 6 when we arrived. All of my family who were in Paris (my mom, sister, and dad) ares all deceased except me. I have lots and lots of pictures and slides but can't say that I remember much.
Didier...my dad was stationed in El Paso a few years befor we went to France. I would like to view some picturees of Fuecherolles today but can only locate the golf course. I'd like to see the streets and maybe even the old military housing if it is still there. |

We lived in army housing near Feucherolles from 1959-1963 and my dad worked at Camp De Loges. I have tons of pictures and slides but since I am the sole survivor of my family and was only six years old in 1959, I am unsure as to being able to identify the places and people in the photos. I just know that we were in Feucherolles.

My family lived at army bases in France from 1965-1967, first at Braconne, then at Poitiers, finally at Ingrandes. I belive my father was with the 202nd Military Police. We were among the last military personnel to leave France after DeGaulle removed the country from NATO command.

I was stationed at Camp Des Loges from 1958 - 1961 with the Air Force element. I worked at the DEPCINCEUR Hqs under an army captain Howard F. Goldberg and then later under an Army Captain Hausmann who had received a battlefield commission in Korea. DEPCINCEUR at that time was an Army General Williston B. Palmer. CINCEUR was Air Force General Lauris Norstad (who was also SACEUR and stayed at SHAPE Hqs.)

John Cross (Det. A) La Braconne 1960 - 1963 |

Hi I was stationed at Braconne from 1960- 63. I have some photos from this time ( I was in Det. A). I also revisited this area last October and made some pictures. The camp is now in ruins but I think I recognize the barracks where we used to live. I also visite Angoulême, La Rochefoucauld and Montbron (where my wife and I lived for two years.). Would like to hear from you. John Cross |
