Wait just a minute, lets look at what we have running for Sheriff. We have 2 that have been in the business for many years, 1 that is a nice guy but has no Law Enforcement Experience, and 2 that have questionable past history. The 2 that have Experience, only 1 is the man for the job WOLF D. The other one has been there 6 yrs. and has bettered the Sheriff's Dept. Yet. WOLF DIESTMANN is the person to be the next Sheriff of Howell CO. VOTE FOR THE WOLF, AUGUST 5 TH.

What about Hedlesten? I haven't heard much about him other than from his ads and website. RD doesn't seem to be campaigning much. Obvious negative feelings on here about him.

we need a change in the Howell co sheriff dept. I am tired of hearing about the good old boys, just because you are raised and live in this area all your life does not mean you can make a good sheriff. my vote will be for wolf, i think we need someone who can be a leader and not just a follower, and knowledge to do a good job.

Knowing someone who had personally worked with the Sheriff's office, and how things "work" there - I'm definitely up for a change. There are major politics going on - and if you aren't a 'brown noser' you lose out.

I have spoken with Wolf about his time as a LA Police officer - and he has really great stories. He's worked the 'beat' and knows his stuff. He has personality - which is needed for the 'politics' of the office. He is also HUMAN, and has feelings, and can relate to many people. His wife and kids are awesome! I haven't ever heard any 'bad' things said about them, and I have confidence in his ability to run the office - effectively, and fairly. We need the change.

My 2 cents...
Easy does it

What is not to love about a sheriff named "Wolf."
Experience and integrity should prevail, not who spends the most money on ads.

I am amazed at how much Hedlesten is spending on ads already. Advertising doesn't come cheap. It's still over two months until the primary and another three months til the general election. Makes a person wonder why someone would be spending that much money for that long of a time for a job that pays no more than the sheriff's job does.

Anyone "HEDLESTEN" must not be to bright, to think he can buy the election. We don't need a person that thinks like that. VOTE "WOLF"

Hedlesten doesn't have to put up his own money. Howell County actually has political contributors, unlike some of the other poor ass counties around.

Our current Sheriff is never there, from what I here. He gets everyone to do his work for him, while he is up schmoozing in Jeff City. He got elected because his father-in-law runs Community First Bank. He thinks he is going to be the replacement to Ward Franz someday, but I don't think his political aspirations will go far. His never being in the Sheriff's Office to do his job is going to come back to haunt him. I just don't think he's qualified to be in that position, although I didn't think Ward Franz was smart enough either.

The sad thing is that none of the folks running are right for the position. Hedlesten has been playing Mr. Nice Guy to everyone for years, because he has had intentions of running. After he gets elected, his true self will come out. He will go through and fire half the Dept, but they don't even realize that they are going to be out in the cold, without a job. He is a hard-nosed former Ohio Highway Patrol, and they are regarded as the most militant in the nation. Do you think that someone who could be retired would want to keep going if they weren't just a mean, egotistical person? Mark my words.

What makes me mad is the wreck they had in the last year, where the young lady cadet was killed. They made a special trip to pick up a prisoner over a misdemeanor pot charge. People lost their lives over nothing. And what a waste of tax dollars to go and transport prisoners over something so small.
