Can anyone tell me how well this works? Will the weight come back on after you stop useing it?

It works great as a sort-of jump start. It helps curb your appetite and gives you energy. I recommend the time released capsules. Definitely do not use this long term. Once you have lost the weight, stop using it. After you stop, you must rely on lifestyle changes to maintain the weightloss. Talk to your doctor! Don't just go to the weight loss clinics. Your primary care doc will prescribe it and monitor your heart and lungs because of the side-effects. I hope this helps!

I was told by my Dr. that Adipex is a brothering drug to meth, and the FDA is tring to have it recalled because it is unsafe to use. my sister in law used it for 9 days she lost 9 lbs. on the 10th day she was in the emegency room with irregular heart beat now they are saying she may have permenant heart trouble, and told her to hold on to the unused meds. so she would have a law suit when it is recalled. just thought i would share a little info with you.

I went to the weight loss clinic in jellico and got them... i didnt get the name brand adipex but the generic kind (sorry cant remember the name) and they worked really well for me I lost 25 pds in 2 months... and then i stopped taking them... They didnt make me jittery or anything like that and they def. control your appetite... but the only thing I didnt like was that I actually had to make myself eat on somedays... other days I was fine though... i think taking them and exercising and eating right is an excellent way to lose weight!

I went to Jellico and i got a month's supply for $75.00 and that included the office visit. They also give you a coupon or you can get the coupon out of the news paper that saves you 15.00 dollars. It is a great way to lose weight good luck.

WARNING : I used adipex for 6 years on and off,and all the weight just kept on comming back...plus I have had untreatable permenet bladder pain, abdomen pain,Ibs,tooth loss, and now I might have to have surgery on my intestine, doctor says it's all because long term use of adipex...keep in mind I used it on again off again to loose weight,so I was not addicted to it,although you can become addicted they say. I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO TAKE THIS DRUG! If you do, DO NOT use for more than 1 month as recommended by the FDA to help with morbid obecity...this means not recomended for someone that just needs to lose 20 to 30 pounds.this drug was intended for people 100 pounds or more overweight. I lost 40 pounds in two months but it came back as soon as i stopped,so I kept going back and trying them again, and again untill I got all these health problems...so please beware!

Yeah I agree with you... I dont recommend anyone using it for longterm... I only used it to lose 15 pds... and ended up losing 25 pds... which was fine... but i hated the thought of having to actually force myself to eat... it was almost like being anorexic... somedays the only thing I ate was a pack of crackers... but like I said I only used it for 2 months... and I was able to maintain my weight after I quit taking them by eating healthy and working out! So they did help me a lot... but for long term use I wouldnt use them cause like you said it has to cause some health problems...

i needed to loose about 100 lbs so my doc put me on adipex to help...it does wonders but it can have some bad long term effects...my doc put me on it for a month took me off for a month...then put me back on it for a month etc...you know month on month off...during the month i wasn't taking it i didn't gain weight back because during the time i was using it my stomach shrank and i didn't eat as much...i totally KILLED my appitite and that is what i liked...my doc also monitored my health while i was taking it by doing blood work every 3 months...i am a diabetic so the pros of taking this med far outweighed the cons...when i was taking it, my insurance paid for it because my doctor billed it as a medical necessity (due to me being so overweight)....glad to say that the adipex started me off, i've have lost 140 lbs to date and have changed my eating styles to maintain what i have lost...it is soooo hard to lose weight when you are a diabetic and especially if you are on insulin...hang in there and as long as your doc monitors you closely, you should be fine...

also, if i can do it ANYBODY can because i have absolutly NO willpower at all...when i was taking it it would sometimes make me feel sick if i ate....another thing that is working for me at this time is called Byetta (spelling?) it is used to maintain blood sugars in diabetic, hypoglocymics, etc it also curbs your hunger...the doc put my brother in law on it just as a weight loss tool he has no health problems and it worked wonders for him...he was very heavy and has lost about 200 lbs..he is looking great...talk with your doc about this med...

A nurse that I work with was telling me she used to weigh 205.I couldnt believe it.She only weighs about 138 now.She said she got down to 124 while she was taking them. She said they worked really great! The add. in the newspaper said Betty at the w-burg bank lost over 100 lbs. So,yes to your quest. They do work.I have used them off and on for over 12yrs.,but when I stop taking them I do gain most all my weight back. After you lose what you need to they will put you on a maintenance program. So you can maintain your goal weight.I think if used correctly they are safe.

they do work as long as you make lifestyle changes too and it is better to get them from your primary care provider as some one else previously stated they only cost about 25 dollars at the drug store

If your doctor prescribes them, your insurance should pay for them. Mine only cost me $5.00 per month, as they were prescribed by my regular doctor. I have lost 20 pounds on them, and have had no side effects.

I currently moved to Williamsburg. I am looking for a doctor locally that I can switch to that can prescribe me the same dosage of Adipex, I am currently on. Do you know of any doctors locally. Thank you so much and so sorry for bothering you.

I used Adipex for years. It works at first, but you become immune to it and the weight comes back. And now I have had a massive stroke from it.

Find a good diet plan with some cardio and you won't need adipex cause when you stop and start eating unhealthy amounts of food the weight will come back Plus some
