You have too many bible thumpers who think they are "better then thou" tell you how you'll go to hell for having your hair cut wrong, but they are usually the one's who are closet drinker's, drug users, abusers etc. etc. Really, how many of you know of preachers in the area who are pill heads. But they think they have a right to tell us what we can and can't put in our body's.

If they're selling to minors, they will continue to sell to minors, because minors are still not allowed to buy alcohol legally. If it goes to package sales, it would even be easier for bootleggers to supply minors with it because they wouldn't have to drive far to get it. And most adults don't use bootleggers anymore, they just drive out and get it themselves.

honestly ..who would pay bootleg prices when they are double what it is legal? and we would get the tax money instead of just the cans and trash. People drinking a beer aint against the law. In my opinion somebodys afraid of being put out of business...bootleggers or maybe Jellico..Corbin sure hurt em. Williamsburg would shut em down with their high prices, cause beer in Richmond is way cheaper than Tn. I think it would be alot harder if a kid had to come up with an ID to buy it!

I don't drink at all, but I think Williamsburg should go wet. Because if people are going to drink, they are going to drink. Would you rather have them go to Corbin or London and let those towns have the tax money or keep it in your own town and be put to use here???? It will also bring some nice restuarants and more jobs into this sleepy, little dried up town! Don't you people want anything around here???!!!! And it is not a sin to drink. It's only a sin if you are getting drunk or an alcoholic. And if someone likes getting drunk or an alcoholic, keeping this town dry is not going to change that. Only the person themselves can change that!!! Going wet is the best vote for this one horse town!! Wake up people!!!

There's one main reason that Williamsburg won't go wet. University of the Cumberlands. That's all there is to it. They won't let their students be in a room with the opposite sex unless the door is open, you think they'll let their students DRINK? Ha! Cumberlands runs this town.

Thats funny about Cumberland considering the fact that about a hundred of them were just outside in my apartment parking lot drunk and acting crazy. I don't know how these little apartments even held so many of them. Piling out of thr building like a bunch of wild monkey, half of them wearing nothing but underwear. I thought two half naked guys were going to fight but that's when the cops came in and they all went running for their cars whom mommy and daddy paid for.

Cumberlands runs this town. wake up stupid,Why do you think they changed cumberland college to University of the cumberlands, cause under the old name the town couldnt go wet because the college was conciderd a chrtstian college as long as it was cumberland college,so first change the name to University of the cumberlands, second do a make over on the bridge over the interstate...plans are to line the strip on both sides of the road with new resturants down to the water park to bring in new jobs to Williamsburg...why do think Hampton Inn built a big new motel there? not because Williamsburg was loaded with all kinds of money. now the only problem we have with progress here in our town is the stupid lady at the health dept that is pushing us to go smoke free here in our town, now the way i see it is Corbin made the mistake of going smoke free and now places like the resturants and the bingo parlor on the hill is losing there business because corbins little city hall group of 6 people decided they needed to go smoke free it wasnt a town vote these 6 people decided for the whole town that they needed to go smoke free but we will provide you with resturants to serve you beer to get you drunk so you can dui and hit and kill someone on your way home....now before you get me wrong about drinking, let smoking and drinking continue in our town to bring in business from big time resturants lining up and down the strip to the water park or anywhere else they want just have a age limit on both be 25 years old cause by that age if you've not grown up then you never will... but this town has a chance to grow and take Corbin and Jellico business by doing both just make the people old enough to do both be responisble...and the town needs to pull together and dont allow members of the board down town or the lady at the health dept make the decision to go smoke free and not allow drinking make them put it to a vote...let the people vote which one they want..the people are the ones that are suppose to be running the town not weezles like the health dept...hell half of them over there are fat and killing themselves by over eating.... williamsburg take a stand vote no to going smoke free and yes to going wet..let this town grow...ITS TIME TO TAKE A STAND FOR PROGRESS....

@Long Live Here. No name for name calling here. Let's talk about being grown up when you call names to someone on the internet that has an opinion. The reason Cumberlands went from 'college' to 'university' was to broaden the type of degrees that they offered. Not for some big scheme to bring in alcohol. And since they are no longer considered a "Christian college", explain to me why the UNIVERSITY of the Cumberlands expelled a student for being gay. And why they still uphold a curfew and strict rules for their students. I like the idea of Williamsburg becoming wet and expanding. But the logic of your ideas up to the point where you talk about letting the people vote are quite idiotic. And a 25 year old limit on letting people in? That's absurd. If you're 21 years old and can drink, they should be allowed into these areas just as everyone else. There are 40 year old people out there with less maturity than some 21 year olds. That's a fact.
