Yes, I remember eating hamburgers at the G&E Drive in, with my mom and my brother. We would eat then go to Triplets and buy groceries. I remember seeing Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory there. The good old Dixie Drive in. I remember a movie I saw there, called the Mummys Shroud. I had to sleep with a night light on, after seeing that movie. My brothers' friends use to hide in the trunk of his car, and they would sneak into the Dixie Drive in. My mom didn't find out about it, until years later. I think he had come home from the Army, and was talking about old times.

Does anybody remember, Shorty Messer, I just remembered hearing that name from the past? Also does anybody remember, Hester Perry, Little Eddie Mcfarland. My Uncle knew them. On Sundays we would sit on my Uncles' front porch, if Hester or Eddie went by, they would holler at my Uncle. He got the biggest kick out of them. Please don't talk bad about anyone. I just wonder how they are doing. My Uncle has long since passed away.

No one can take that away from us. I've heard alot of people comment, how they wish those good times would have lasted a little longer. Well me too. I live life to its fullest today, and I don't dwell on the past. Those were just times that you just can't help but remember.

Those were just times that you just can't help but remember. I lived in Whitley County during the 60's , a great place to grow up. I graduated from Whitley County High School, so much fun. I have lots of fond memories, but don't get down there very often anymore. Those were the good days. We could go off leave our doors unlocked, eveyone knew who their neighbor's were and if you needed anything they were there to help. I understand the Whitley County area is not that way anymore.

Hello "Miss Kitty". I also hear Whitley County is not what it once was. I don't think we even owned a key to our doors. We would visit family and be gone for a week, come home and all was safe. I attended Poplar Creek from 1964-1972. I attended my Freshman year at WCHS. Left in 1973. Though I did go back alot. It's been awhile since I have been down there.

However, I know it wouldn't be the same.

Let me know.....very curious! Hey "John Wayne", its more fun if you keep guessing. Those are not my initials. Another hint, I remember when we use to get brown paper bags filled with, apples, oranges and peanuts in the shell. When we got done eating the peanuts, we would throw the shells at each other. By the time I got off of the bus, my hair was nothing but peanut shells. In the 3rd grade Mrs. Siler took a class picture of us, and gave each of us a copy. I remember a girl with the initials PJL lived in the back of the school.
