I have lived in Josephine County for 22 years. Not once in that time have I called the Sheriff's Department. Why would I want to pay higher property taxes for a service I don 't use?

In contrast, I've taken advantage of our library, parks and fairgrounds hundreds of times, but these resources are not funded by county taxes.

Our commissioners should consider giving voters a choice on where their tax dollars go. Then a levy might finally be passed.
