I also grew up in Elkhorn and as an adult moved around but when I had kids I came back because of the schools.What a mistake!!!!The schools used to be good and had teachers that cared but most,not all don't care .There IS nothing to do.I always had alot of kids at my house and I didn't mind because I knew where they were and knew they were safe.I used to talk to the kids about why they did the dumb stuff they did and it really came down to being bored and not having anything to do or anywhere to go.They should not have to go out of there town to find something to do.The families with money should try bringing something to town for them.But as we all know they don't worry because there kids are involved in sports and school activities,but what about the kids that aren't good at school or sports ? If one of the big families had kids that were running aound I bet then they would do something.Elkhorn is about the families with the big names or the families with money.If you don't have either I suggest you try living somewhere else.

If I had to do over?
1. I'd bed going to every class I could, 12 mos a yr to get the best grades and stay 6 mos ahed of everyone else to get into College.. Get a Scholorship
2. I'd be going to college 12 mos a yr too to grad early and go for a masters in specializing in Franchising...
3. Then I'd start my own business and be traveling around the country selling them at all the franchise shows..
Not be like most in this area that are Pick-up truck contractors working only 8 mos a yr and being poor..
