Who said this stuff is for sale? That is an assumption, and we have all been taught to not assume. It was for fire stoking, auto/truck antifreeze, bartering, and drinking, all personal use.
Made the stuff in Chemistry class in HS and passed it around to the class to try, all students being underage of course. Maybe one of the students who liked it so much decided to continue the project?
Maybe Roger Nance runs the ski lodge I had it served at?
Just trying to make a living in this economy.

You have no idea how true those words might be! My Uncle and Aunt had a passel of kids (passel being more than a dozen) He worked the mines by day back home in Kaintuck but by night he ran the still below the bedroom floor......Sheriff knew it and him and all the deputies bought their white lightning from Uncle Hal but they didn't want to arrest him because then the county would have to support his wife and children. County budget wasn't much more than a months budget for groceries in those days (50's) Not to mention that Uncle made the best booze in 6 counties.

Why does the federal government tax distilled liquor and not allow home production, but they don't tax beer and wine and let you make 200 gallons a year? What's the difference?

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Leo

Even though you usually pride yourself on being the strong silent type, love has a way of unlocking your tongue. The words coming out of your mouth may be familiar, but your sense of timing makes all the difference right now. Keep in mind that you never know how a risky gesture will work out, although you can always hope for the best. When in doubt, take the more cautious path.
