Lots of dismissals
Lewis, who has competed in professional fighting events, has been arrested three times and accused of battery, but two cases were dismissed and one resulted in probation, according to district and municipal court records.
On Oct. 2, 2010, Lewis was accused of hitting a man in the mouth and knocking out a tooth when the man was attempting to help a friend retrieve a stolen backpack at a party. The arrest affidavit said several suspects scattered when police arrived, and Lewis was found by police on top of the Consolidated Printing building at 319 S. Fifth.
Charges in that case were dismissed by the state after a preliminary hearing in December.
Lewis was accused of battery, assault and obstructing the legal process for an incident that occurred March 6, 2010. In a Municipal Court trial, Lewis was found not guilty of the battery charge and guilty of the other two charges. He appealed the case to district court, where the case was dismissed.
Marijuana and alcohol
As a juvenile, Lewis pleaded guilty to amended charges of battery and criminal trespass after he and two other teens were accused of beating another teen and stealing his wallet and two baggies of marijuana Feb. 16, 2008. He was placed on probation.
On July 31, 2010, Lewis was accused of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, but those charges were dismissed.
He was found guilty of criminal trespass for an incident that occurred June 15, 2010, and his 30-day jail sentence was suspended. He was found guilty of being a minor in possession of alcohol for an incident on June 12, 2010, and his five-day jail sentence was suspended.
He received a citation for driving under the influence on Nov. 29, 2008, and has been cited for driving while suspended since that time.
