Coparts are totally shitty to deal with - unhelpful and untrustworthy - all sorts of added hidden fees - I have stopped buying from them and using hbc now which seems to be a better setup so far. i would avoid coparts at all costs.....

As a former manager, I can assure you we were instructed not to take any cars back. Having a "Buy Back" is a black mark on your employment record. They had us use the line over and over of, "It's an auction, all sales are final. Didn't you read your Terms and Conditions?" The staff are overworked and expected to get the job done no matter what; the penalty being termination even when faced with deadlines of paperwork, answering phones, working the counter. This is why staff are unpleasant. They are pushed too hard and the decent person inside is not allowed to help you. The worst SCUM are the Regional Managers and executive staff, all with over inflated egos and I never understood how these cars salesman can be so arrogant. It is a culture run by fear from these arrogant phonies.

I know a guy that buys from IAA and manheim wrecked cars, he fixes the damage half fast to make it look like much less, then he sells them through Copart to "suckers" he makes close to 300,000 a year doing that, he said " he feels no remorse because persons buying from Copart are trying to scam others by selling them wrecked cars" so he is actually scamming scammers on the larger level, by letting there greed get them, I buy cleN cars at Manheim every day, idont have them problems, good luck to all that know the loopholes in life, buying junk to sell it, then you get scammed made my day thank you all suckers

Copart is a warehouse where junk yards have made them what they are, what I mean is it is a sorse for junk yards to buy inventory to sell parts to their customers, IF YOU think you are going to get anything more than JUNK AT COPART, then you need to have your head examined. It is a place for insurance companies to get rid of the wrecks they jewed you out of when your car got totled out. Copart going public, what a joke, they got to have millions of attorney general complaints, If I was to sell crap vehicles and mis-represent them like Copart to the public does, I would be in jail. If you are anything other than a salvage yard or bodyshop buying at Copart, it is your problem, because Copart a junk yard trying to sell non-exsisting good vehicle to the public, buy from car dealers, get a carfax (not autocheck) and leave the junk alone at Copart. Another factor is Copart supports you bidding on your own vehicle if you are selling there, now what kind of bargin are you expecting like that.

BEWARE COPART BUYERS
Elmhurst, IL
|
The very idea of the public being able to purchase from Copart is scary.
You need to be a license dealer and a dismantler / auotbody shop, this is
Copart's very own words.
Do you know what you are in for, Copart will not tell you how to
legally rebuild a vehicle and get a rebuilt title so you can license it,
or how much damage was done to what you are bidding on.
There is lots of legal channels you have to take to be able to drive
a car you purchased at Copart
I have been building cars for 40 years, I have bought from Copart and I
always expect hidden damage you can't see in pictures, or the fork
lift riped out the transmission or suspension, hey I travel to check the cars
out first before bidding because Copart definition of run/drive is no
guarantee the vehicle will drive. The car I have seen first and bid on
is not the same car when I get it delivered to me, The fork lift destroys
these cars or somebody who wanted that car who got out bid by you
has vandalized it in retaliation or the radiator has no coolant and somebody
has let it run and it overheated cracking the head or locking up the engine.
EVERYTIME I bought a clean title car at Copart (a dealer car signified with
a letter (P) next to the type of title it takes Copart a month or better to get you
the title, that is illegal first off and Copart expects you to pay for the car
with no guaranty when you will get the title and another factor to a dealer
selling their cars at Copart is you are getting a vehicle they can't sell
without getting in trouble with the consumer protection laws. When a dealer
sells there junk at Copart, you have no recourse, nobody to fall back
on and all Copart will tell you is you don't have to purchase the car but
you owe a $400.00 no sell fee and talk about fees, Copart has fees for fees,
like a gate fee and internet fee, a sale fee so most of the time your purchase
will cost you hundreds more than your bid. OH YEAH, you got 7 days
to get the vehicle out after you won the bid and if their not open, weekends
or holidays, guess what that 7 days keeps on ticking and after 7 days it's
storage fees or you got 2 days to pay for the winning bid and the same
thing goes even the days they are closed, the clock keeps on going and
after 2 days you have late pay fees, I read something about Copart being
a fortune 500 company, is it no wonders, they got there by their hidden
fees, so a simple 1000 dollar car will cost you 1800 when you arrive to
claim your prise.
Beware of buying a clean title car because everytime it will be a junk car.
The public also will let Copart sell their junk because they can't seem
to find a sucker to buy it and Copart don't care if they do because it's
all about the money.
Are you asking yourself how does this guy know all of this, I have purchased
vehicles from Copart and the above info is what always happens when you purchase
from Copart.
So you want to lose your hard earn cash, and get a junk car, go ahead bid at
Copart, that is what your in for, BEWARE, I got lots of horror stories about
what Copart has done to me, don't let them do it to you

And as the missing parts go a missing part can be lost at the accident Seen the body shop the car was classed as totaled . Secondly we arnt paid 7.50 it's way more then that . If you don't see the parts in the pictures then assume that there missing and last copart will hire anyone who applies this being said a 18 year old kid out of high school who has no car knowledge can be hired and told to put what wrong with the car it's not a scam it's a scam when ppl don't do there reading and just bid on it bc it says it drives copart also dosent bump up bid our selfs bc no one at copart can buy a car from copart I also worked there. It is a horrid place to work and staff is underpaid. I know as I was a manager and fielded many concerns from staff about pay. COPART IS A SCAM due to all the hidden charges, fees, and we were specifically told not to accept "Buy Backs" but to remind buyers of Terms and Conditions. Regional Managers are the lowest form of scum who push staff for every nickel they can squeeze from a buyer. The most comical thing from training in Fairfield, CA. was the trainers saying, "Meeting the executive staff is like meeting rock stars!" I kid you not they said that. Look, you're dealing with car salesman, that's bad enough. Now you're dealing with junk car salesmen. You're working with morons. Luckily my normal career called me back from a layoff.

I also got scammed today on my first purchase from them no less and I am a rebuilder who usually buys thru Iaa who also takes deceptive pictures but thats another story.First i go in to pay and ask first to see the car before I payed and they said no I cant see it until it gets outside the gate. The reason for this is once it passes the gate they are no longer liable for anything (missing parts to pay the fork loft drivers) what a joke.I bought this 2011 ford fiesta and the picture of the console and driver wheel bshowed the airbags fully intact but when they pulled the car out the driver airbag was missing. So the bottom line here is they dont care because they probably took it themselves because it was there when the car was brought to them.

please remember most of the time these insurance sales lots arent for the average joe buying a car. theyre for mechanics and brokers to buy vehicles. 99.9% of the vehicles need work. so if you dont want to work on the vehicle please stop looking because you will just get let down. think of it like this do u shop for a car at the junk yard? if not dont browse copart.

Um experienced here!! That is not the problem. The problem is being lied to and having very deceiving pictures!! All floor mats and manuals taken out of the cars, really? The air bags go off and they stuff them in the steering wheel to make it look like they did not deploy? Come on!!!

I buy a car from Copart a honda civic 2003 for the value of 4000, then I had to pay 500 for transport, and many extra fee.... the thing is when I looked the car was total different then what i saw at all the photos, the car was missing many many parts and does not run, so hire a mechanic and told me that the engine does not work and many other things .. and to repair the car would cost me another 4000 if I want to see the car on foot in perfect condition, I find it more expensive than buyin from dealers so **** copart
