Man accused of beating infant

I cannot believe this, my sister would never leave her children with someone she thought could do such a horrible thing. I hope and pray that our comunity gets behind her and helps her get her kids back. This is a horrible horrible thing to happen to her and now they took her kids away to. She was at work. It was the baby's DAD and why would you not leave your child with thier father. I hope they let Ed in the Jail sell with him.

Takes a REAL MAN to beat up a 4 month old.......
You know, child abusers are not too well thought of in jail.......hope, someone a whole lot bigger than him does to him what he did to that baby.

This is horrifying! This woman does not deserve the treatment that she is receiving from the courts! She was not home at the time...can't anyone tell time? This man should be held solely responsible for the crimes that only HE committed. Her crime was loving her children...& trusting a man she thought was not capable of this...She deserves our prayers and hope the support of the community as well as the courts! It is devistating enough but to take her kids to a foster home??? Give 'em back to Mom...they NEED EACH OTHER!

I've heard the same. The abuse has been ongoing and evidently the mom didn't do anything about it. Someone finally figured that out.

I know nothing about these people, but any man who could beat up an infant deserves a beating of the worse kind himself.

I don't know these people, either, but what I DO know is that for this man to beat this poor child, well.......you can rely on the fact that this isn't the first time he's exhibited violent or aggressive behavior. His wife DOES know this side of him. So do others. Maybe none thought he'd go this far, but they knew he was capable of violence. Maybe they just turned a blind eye, maybe they didn't know what to do, or maybe they tried and the system failed them.
The 'system' often fails these children, due to underfunding, understaffing, bureaucracy, etc., and then we hear about their deaths in the news later. Maybe, just maybe, this time it will save a life. I don't believe anyone deserves any sympathy here except the child.
It's just my opinion, but based clearly and solidly on statistics.

I may be wrong, but I am having a hard time believing that if a 4 mo. old baby has bruises about his body, how could the mother NOT know that he is being harmed!?!? That SHOULD send all kinds of red flags rising to the top of the pole! I can only assume all of these bruises and injuries didn't happen over night. Any mother should question a bruise on her infant. A four month old baby is not mobile, running around, bumping into to tables, falling down, etc. to be able to receive injuries!!
I am not a rocket scientist, but I do know that when child abuse is being investigated, ALL the children are removed from the home. Honestly, I think that is one of the best things authorities can do!
I also understand that the mother was arrested because she had an outstanding warrant. Any truth to that?
Has anyone heard how this little baby is doing? My prayers are with him and his older sibling!

I can't belive you people that are making these coments about my sister. You don't know her and are not getting the right information about what has happened. You are all getting your info from the paper and they don't have it right. On the day this happened to the Baby Val was at work and Russ was home taking care of the baby. My neice is the one that found there was something wrong and called my sister to come home from work. When she got home Val and Russ both took the baby to the hospital. They thought there was a fracture and sent him to St. Louis, there was not. The bruise was from Russ hitting him the other bruises were small and not a big concern to the doctors. My sister did question the bruises of course she did. Russ always had an answer for them. If your chiled had a small bruise and you aksed his father what happened and he gave you an answer to why what would you do call the police or belive him because he is the father and the thought that he would hurt his baby would never enter your mind. There was no pryor abuse to the older boy and he was never hurt by Russ. The baby is fine and doing good. The warrant you talked about was fro a traffic ticket, nothing to do with abuse at all but it makes better news if they just leave that fact out. I wish that some one would get the story right so every time there is something new about it in the paper it is right. And I would like to say to the neighbors that are saying that is a known drug house that I would like to see a police report that says they have ever been to the house for because of drugs. We are a loving and caring family and we cherish our chaldrin just like other familys do. If your are reading this and your child has ever had a mark on them and someone else saw it and thought you did it you know how my sister is feeling right now. She loves her baby and would never hurt him or let anyone else hurt him. Please open your hearts and say a prayer for all of them and hope they will be able to soon put this all behind them and move on as a family.

There was no on going abuse, where do you people get your information. Have you ever seen the kids, do you even know my family?

In the time you all seem to think that there has been on going abuse the baby was to see the doctor 3 times and you would think that if there had been any signs of abuse he would have said something about it to someone don't you think. The baby just had his shots and they didn't see any abuse.

He must be a really cool guy.....he has 14 listings on Franklin Co. judici and 3 on Williamson Co., and it doesn't even list the beating yet.

either way, from now on I'd cool it, I promise you they are watching. You'll do nothing but a favor to the neighbors and yourself to stop all illegal activity. People coming and going and watch the children better and please clean up that damn place and be respectable neighbors. It doesnt take a whole lot to pick up the trash and remove the junk from the yard, dont be Lazy!! I wish the best for your family, dont become Franklin Counties Finest

thats my family and i know for a fact that my aunt would never let this happen if she knew about what was gonna happen she would have never let it happen she took care of me since the day i was born helping my mom which was a single mom at the time and life goes on and i hate that you could say bad things like that you would never expect that any one could hurt a four month old baby like that so how was my aunt suposed to know that i know this is a blog but if you dont have anything nice to say dont even bother because you dont know for sure if your info is right its all he said she said stuff that isn't even true so if you dont know the truth then dont talk because if it's not you then you dont really know i hope the people who know where im coming from have a open heart and pray for them baby's to come back to my aunt because when there's some thing bad going on you always need your family
so i pray that my loving aunt who cared for my alot of my life gets her kids that she loves so much back she would never do anything to hurt them or put them in harms way i love you and please bless my family in these hard times and be with us ......amen

No you are right he is not a good man, but that doesn't mean that my sister is a bad person she just picked the wrong man to fall in love with. Do you really know anyone. She has changed all that she is removed him from her life and the kids lifes also.

Who are you Rick? Do you even know my family? You call your self a respectable neighbor and yet you get on here and only have bad things to say about them. Are you the neighbor that no one can stand because you can't mind your own business. Are you the one that calls the police and than stands on the front porch like everyone else and says that's to bad, so no one will think it was you that called, Rick? What ever happened to "LOVE THY NEIGHBOR", RICK? In times like this when this family has been hurt by the actions of one man, maybe you could try to be a "respectable neighbor" Rick and offer a helping hand instead of just another that wants to hurt.
