Under God we trust. Our nation was built on religons. Hell why do you think we left Europe. All of are fore fathers took oath under God even the ones that wrote the consitution and admendments, this is a free religous country, yes, but no religion upholds homosexuality. Stop trying to twist things around like its about human rights when everyone that knows anything, knows its about the acceptance of gays and if you didnt have gay tendancies you would not be here raising stink.
"Under God we trust" isn't in anything I've read except for your stupid rantings. I believe the phrase you're after is "In God We Trust."

However, and more proof you're an idiot, this phrase didn't find its way onto American coinage until well after The Constitution was drafted and signed. I don't recall the exact dates it did finally make it on all coinage, but it didn't make it on paper currency until the mid 1950s. This was about the same time "under God" made it into the Pledge of Allegiance. That pledge, BTW, didn't even include "United States" in the original version. That was added in the 50s as well. This all took place during the Red Scare. Perhaps that is when paranoia fueled hate got such a foothold in this country. McCarthyism isn't dead. It lives and breaths in you. It is also nice that people of your ilk like to accuse those you hate of being hate mongers. The truth is they're fighting back against your illogical fears.

One of the nation’s wealthiest and most powerful corporate interest groups, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Announced a $10 million advertising campaign across eight key states.

Their goal is to put a GOP/Republican/Tea Party Nation STOOGE in place and seize the Senate and execute a complete takeover of the U.S. government.

<quoted text>Shows you know little about being a Christian, where do you live, i can refer you to a good bible study. There is no such thing as a better Christian, it's not like humans think, it's from God. You are not saved by following a script for idiots like you to judge.
This shows how hard of thinking you are. "Better" is a quantitative term that can quite handily be applied to most anything. He's a better carpenter than you. He's a better mechanic than you. He's a better Christian than you. It simply means that when it comes to the practice of whatever entity you're talking about, the person referred to as better is behaving more appropriately to that end.

My mother, a practicing Christian, once told me that I was a better Christian than many of the folks in her church. She knows I don't affiliate with any church or organized religion. The point she was making was that many of her fellow church members are Christian in name only. She was referring to action. The reason she had done this was that, once again, the church elders were busy ousting yet another minister. They were doing so with the support of most of the congregation. The minister's crime? He had the audacity to welcome poor black children from the inner city into Bible study. Unfortunately for him the church congregation is all white and racist. Ergo the reference to me.

So, even though your RELIGION doesn't allow for the ranking of poor, okeedokee, better, and best in reference to people, it is certainly plausible for rational people to make the observation that some individuals are not behaving in a Christian fashion whilst proclaiming to be Christians. This assessment can then be used to compare folks who are Christian and do behave as Christians should. That isn't to say the notion that we are all guilty of sinning isn't a valid one. However, when you let yourself surf in a sea of hatred you are NOT being a GOOD Christian. It is also possible to apply this relative evaluation to those who don't profess to be Christian yet treat others in a fashion expected of Christians.

Some what correct, as a nation we did not want a "national" religion, but we certainly didn't create a nation which was to be free from it. The founders prayed openly at the beginning of the Continental Congress, they allowed the bible into the educational system, they and we still do swear on the bible as well as take oaths with it, they declared national days of thanksgiving. Yes, there is a big difference with a declaration that Christianity is the official religion of the United States and saying that much of our founding principles were based on such a belief system.
Unfortunately the truth in what you're saying is lost on the many Christians that want to claim that this is a Christian Nation. It is not. I'm not suggesting that this is not in line with what you are stating, just making an observation.
akpilot wrote:
<quoted text>
Not to mention that well after the ratification States had "religions" many required one to be of a certain sect to hold elected office,...

Yet this still permitted a continuation of what they were attempting to avoid. This requirement left many out in the cold and created quite a bit of resentment in some camps as well as feelings of superiority in others. Which is not at all foreign to what we see expressed in our current society. Namely that some religions claim to be the one true religion. This isn't unanimous, but it is present. Know any Pentecostals? My brother married into the religion. Now I'm going to hell. I can only assume my mother, a devout Christian (Methodist) is bound for hell as are the rest of my siblings (two Methodists and a Baptist). My niece was married by a Baptist preacher. He seemed a bit smug about their religion. Isn't this all a bit confusing?
akpilot wrote:
<quoted text>the founders took no issue with this practice as the State was free to do as it please, they understood that the Bill of Rights and the 1st Amendment were restrictions on the Federal Government and not the State (See the 10th Amendment), it wasn't until the 1960's that the SCOTUS became confused.
The rise and fall of a nation. It happens regularly. Granting all the benefits (and baggage) associated with marriage will have absolutely no bearing on this.

I would have to agree with you.....I'm an AMERICAN CITIZEN born in this Country.

A Naturalized Citizen is one who IS NOT born here, but gains citizenship by studying for it and taking an oath!!!

I hope Bruno/Jackson can grasp this:
Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements state by our Government!!!

Being Homo is a choice. When you make that choice you are setting youself up for a long hard road to travel as you are finding out. Just because you win here and there doesn't mean you have concored your fight to be queer odd couples of America. You will still be second class people who demand special rights where ever you go, society will see you as the johnny come lately who upset the apple cart. How far will homosexualilty take this country? will we start seeing TV commercials with gay couples walking thru a park holding hands selling homoroid products?
Please prove your own theory by CHOOSING to be attracted to someone of the Same-Sex!!!

Being Gay or Lesbian is NO MORE a choice than being Straight is........THE CHOICE IS CHOOSING TO LIVE A LIE AND IN DENIAL or Being who you are and living life honest to one's self!!!

You mean like watching the daily commercials about Erectile Dysfunction known as Viagra or Cialis.....or maybe the constant commercials about dating from eHarmony and Match.com .

Please, you seem to be narrow-minded and forget just what we are seeing on commercials everyday.....and what our children see!!!

And I don't believe Erectile Dysfunction commercials are appropriate either.

Being Gay or Lesbian and showing public display of affection like holding hands and small kisses is not unnatural or inappropriate.....however having ANYONE show deep throat kissing, touching of breast and exposing body parts by the heterosexual hormonal teenager crowd in also in poor taste and inappropriate in public places like the park!!!

Good, then you know that as an American Citizen.....I'm not asking for "SPECIAL" rights.....just the same right to have my legal marriage recognized by not only the federal government, but by other states as well.......as an AMERICAN CITIZEN.......my travel in my own country should NOT be curtailed just because one state doesn't want to recognize my marriage!!!!

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Gemini

It's a red letter day for relationships under the Lunar Eclipse in your house of significant others, because you're facing some important and far-reaching changes to some of them. The pressure has been building since the Gemini Solar Eclipse on May 20. f you've known for some time that things aren't working out, you're about to reach a crisis point as becomes obvious that the present situation can't continue much longer. The coming New Moon in Gemini on June 19 will see progress of one kind or another, though this unusual eclipse cycle will have a far-reaching effect. You may have to be cruel to be kind, or more forceful than you would like, in order to get your point across, but do you really have any viable alternative?
