Live and let live. As long as they're not hurting anybody, leave them alone. The trolley looks pretty cool.

It must be an incredibly slow news day. Heck, a story about the weeds at Nelles would be more interesting ...

Wow!!! He's still around! Funny, he's still causing a stir in Whittier! Wasn't he married and didn't he have more than one child? Keeps the city fathers on their toes I guess. Living the life in a trollymobile!!!

Its a free country as long as he is not breaking the law live and let live!! Our men and women in the military fight this countries battles to protect our freedom, and that includes Joe Marsicos freedom to drive and park his trolley within the law.

Would you rather have cholos or stoners drinking and doing drugs in front of your house?

I wish every person here who says live and let live, should invite Joe to park his broken down trolley at their house.

This guy should try to get a job with our Dear Leader Obama. Sounds like he would fit right into his socialist agenda. I'm sure there might be a Czar position created for him.

This clown has cost the city a ton of money. He is always in trouble with the the police. He needs to move on to another city and drive them crazy. Whittier Daily News please STOP giving this clown any more press. I am sure there are other stories more pressing than him and his son and that garbage truck he drives around the city.

And I'm sure you would have cut him some slack if your Dear Candidate McCain won the election ... right

It is truly amazing to me that a crazy homeless guy continues to get the news coverage that he does. It is also hard to believe that Joe Marsico, after all of these years, finally made the front page. I'm not sure why the paper wastes ink an paper to keep us informed of Joe's latest idiosyncracy. Someone wrote that he was harmless. Joe was recently arrested for punching somebody in the face. Harmless? Doesn't sound like it to me. Marsico seems to be seriously mentally ill. A disturbed person with a history of violence should not be walking the streets unsupervised.

Mr. Estrada,

Unlike you, the Marsico's are from Whittier. If we are going to kick anyone out, it ought to be all those gang banging drug dealers from who moved here from Pico Rivera. Especially the people from Pico and East LA. Whittier does not need their brand of Mexican racist paranoia.

It's the immigrants who move here from outside of Whittier who should be evicted.

I have a big problem with immigrants moving here and a week later thinking they can walk around telling Whittier natives where they can walk or what they can and can't do in our own territory. People who just moved to Whittier need to remember they guests in someone else's house. They might have been big shot home boy's back in Pico but here in Whittier they are nobodies and they need to remember that.

It's become a huge problem with racist gang bangers coming to Whittier and trying to take over.

If the people who were complaining were just innocent law abiding parents/residents, then why were they kicked out of Pico for violations of various laws?

Law abiding my ass.

The Marsico's have every right to be in Whittier and they have a right to park a trolley any where in Whittier. Though I do wish the city would impose a permit parking system.
Parking is a serious problem with all the homeboys moving in and bringing crime with them. Free public parking is not a right. When I spoke to the city about it in March their response was that I only wanted it because of the deal with the Suleman woman. The city is only looking at the leaf on the tree instead of the bigger picture. This was a problem before the current problem with the homeless and it was a problem long before Nadya Suleman showed up on the radar.
If our city council can't see this is an issue then what good are they?
Everyone else has permit parking. We don't even have to charge residents. You show up with a rental agreement proving you live on that street and you get a free parking permit. It's non Whittier residents who would need to pay to park. If some punk wants to have a party and bring in people from out of Whittier, fine, they can pay to park and we tow any unauthorized vehicles that are parked overnight and charge the owners a $500 fine.

Actually, this is not true. It is illegal to park on Whittier city streets overnight, if the vehicle in question is over a particular GVWR. Marsico's eyesore is well over the limit and as such, has been towed on at least one occasion. As aggrevating as that stupid trolley is, he does have a right to park on city streets during the day. If he parked in front of my house however, I would make sure that he was harrassed out of the neighborhood - day OR night.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Taurus

It's no good - the prospect of visiting the post-Christmas sales has become too tempting for you to resist any longer. No matter what you're doing today, you'll try to squeeze in the opportunity to dash around some of your favourite shops and see what's on offer. You could snap up some bargains but you should guard against the urge to splurge on items that you don't really want or need. The price of something may have been slashed but the acid test is whether you'd still buy it if it were full price. If not, leave it in the shop!
