Poke Sallett Festival

Well, it is that time of year again. The festival is May 10th, 11th & 12th. I have heard that we won't have any poke sallet because of the late freeze. Anyone know for sure if that is true?

Maybe I will wander around downtown during the festivities and get a t-shirt; or go look at the neat old cars; or maybe the beauty pageant?

Wonder if there will be an auction this year? Any idea what bands will be playing?

i love the polk festival,its the best thing in the world.i sure hope we have enough polk for the eaten contest thats my favorite part

boy i cant wait either its goina be great watching hayburner defend his title,this is my 10th year of buying won of them air brushed tshirts and im going get me one of them cattlemen steak dinners.

The cattlemen steak dinners are good! I am looking forward to the little opry Saturday night.

i love the little opry its great,i use to walk to the polk fest when i was a kid it was awesome i won the egg toss contest every year me and tammy was hard to beat

i love them dairy queen cheese burgers they are great but i cant wait to eat some of them funnel cakes

The polk fest is the best there is nothing like it in world i love the tshirt and crafts

The polk sallet fest is the best i love it better than christmas and easter put together it great i just hope they have enough polk, i used to pick alot of polk with my grandma it was the best time of my life.

I'm gonna try to take my wife & son & go down there Saturday.
I think the weather will be nice...should be a great time!

They said in the paper that the poke is a little scarse this year due to the late freeze.Hope there's enough to eat,especially for the contest!

IT'S POKIN TIME IN TENNESSEE!! whooo hooo. i just love the poke sallet festival. it brings back so many fond memories. and the homemade crafts sure are hard to beat especially with mothers day rite around the corner. thats were im sure to get my mom a special gift!

Of all the things I miss about the big city of Gainesboro, I miss the Poke Sallett Festival most, this time of year. It was always the beginning of Summer for me. I haven’t been in over 10 years.

Saw a flyer today...they are having the outhouse races again this year! They didn't have them last year..the year before they were hilarious!

Wish I had known sooner...I know a bunch of young men that might have been interested in entering!

I love the out house race what time is it

I remember wining first prize in the outhouse race one year. i still got the toilet seat trophy hangin' proudly in my livin room over the crafty handmade mantle i got in the smokies.

today me and my friends met up at gainseboro elementary then when walked to the poke sallet festival for those delicious funnel cakes i was so upset i found out that the egg toss is tomorrow and not today they say them turtles comes out in the rain low and behold it's raining tonight and i'm out there looking for one of them there turtles...but my main excitement is the egg tossing contest, me and jamie win that every year. my grandma is a member of the silver threads but i'm so upset that they aren't having the quilt show this year. the main thing that i'm excited about is my uncle terry bob and his friends entering the outhouse contest...I HOPE THEY WIN!!!!
