Good evening Q.
I would like to get your opinion on youtube video of a police officer what the youtube submitter said about the office critical mistakes on a traffic stop that ended in his death by a disturbed vietnam vet. You seem to know much about firearm training and self defense using deadly force. The reference wikileaks video shows the gun fight going down ending with the officers death. This video is graphic violence and may be disturbing to some viewers, be advised.

A quick question for some of you . Why is it that God is talked about so much on here for the bad and the good , but Satan is hardly ever mentioned? I think he is the one that the problem lies with, am I wrong?
Because god controls satan read the bible. Do you talk to the fry cook at mcdonalds when theres a problem, No, you talk to the boss.

First Mistake was as the speaker stated .. The Officer should have drawn his side arm and prepared himself for using lethal force the Instant the perp turned and and opened his door... He should have already have noted mentally the second person in the truck and planned his actions ... This Very Scenario is taught in advanced police felony stop training... He should have closed the distance with a drawn weapon moving slightly to his left to give him a line of sight angle into the open door of the truck... This would have given him a clear line of fire on the driver as he turned with the M1 and also a line of sight on the passenger if he attempted to come across the seat and would have placed the truck between him and the passenger if he came out the passenger side door...
But also today the second option is available to most officers and that would have been to taze the guy the instant he advanced on the officer and not let him turn and get back to the truck in the first place... while he was on the ground hit the side lock on the tazer and let it drop ..Draw his side arm and target the passenger and move Right to give line of sight to the passenger door and make a felony stop with the passenger ...
But what I would say from what I saw the Officer had not been practicing on a regular on going basis.. He had to make decisions that should have already been made in training exercises... When you draw your weapon for real a adrenalin rush hits, panic ensues and the ability to make decisions and accurately hit a threat is very hard and if you train regularly muscle memory takes over... It was why in the Army you are subjected to constant stressers during entry team training.. flash bangs tossed, screaming in your ears, sleep deprivation before a mission scenario, run for a mile before clearing a structure ect.. to train you not to have to over think in a high stress situation an act on muscle memory from practice...
Good post.

It's one of my big complains in my county... And I think it is a big problem in a lot of small low populations areas in the US... Our officers may go for years without ever drawing their weapons so they become complacent. There is no combat train course in our county and qualifying is basically hitting a still target at 20 foot...

Some of the County PD do practice on their own time but no Combat Scenario training and I have not seen a single entry training exercise...

True story from a local deputy sheriff... The County hired a new officer and while in the sheriffs office he was issued his service piece and badge... The deputy watched as he took the S&W 9mm and un-holstered it and asked how to release the mag... then didn't know how to check the chamber as he had the muzzle pointing around the room... The new officer wanted to know if the Sheriff had some "bullets" at which time the deputy told the sheriff to not let him have any rounds and never let him have the weapon loaded around him.. Come to find out the FNG had never fired a hand gun....

<quoted text>Something will change your mind someday. Maybe not here on this earth, but on the other side. I saw Hitchens the athiest being interviews by Anderson Cooper. He commented that if anyone should ever see that he had admitted there is a God he was under the influence of meds. That may not be his exact words, but that is the meaning. Very chilling comment. Yours is also very chilling.
I don't understand why it's chilling that someone doesn't share the same beliefs as you. There have been billions, are billions, and will be billions more who don't share the same beliefs as you. Have you ever thought about how many people your dogma says will burn in Hell forever because they do not believe? Do you think all of those people deserve that for something so petty?
my say wrote:
<quoted text>There seems to be several of you out there. Christians want to do what God wants us to do. You won't be able to stand before God Judgement Day, and say, "But, I never knew". I will assure you that prayers do make a difference. A seed can be planted. Might not sprout for you, but for others who read on topix. God is always near. He knows all of us so well. Even the hairs on our head are counted. He loves all of us. It is our choice whether we reach out to Him. Not one of us have a guarantee we will be here end of this day.
If people can't say they "never knew," then he's not a very understanding god. Given that there have been thousands of religions (and Christianity alone has 38,000 denominations), how is anyone to know what religion is true if any are at all?

You may hold strong beliefs about the Christian god, but what if you die and you meet a god that you did not believe in? What if it's a god that no religion spoke of?

If the Christian god were real, I would not believe that he loves us. A loving god wouldn't send people to hell or commit mass murder. As I've said before, he doesn't give us much of a choice. If someone puts a gun to your head and says "You don't _have_ to give me your wallet, but if you don't, I'll blow your head off," that isn't much of a choice.

I'm not going to believe in something there is no evidence off. So no, my mind will not be changed. That is something that religious people say because they refuse to believe that others can have different beliefs.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Cancer

You have stars in your eyes and you're in a really romantic mood today. Your idea of heaven is to be with that special person in your life, preferably doing something very nice. If you meet someone new or a relationship gets off the ground today, things will always be rather dreamy and otherworldly between you. It will be as though real life, with all its problems, never intrudes on your time together.
