Yes,I believe that The Urbanna Oyster Festival is nothing more than a drunkfest. I know during this festival there were atleast five different bars open serving alcohol, not to mention a beer garden or the suitcases of beer being walked in for private parties. I also feel that the safety of the citizens are at danger at this event. Where is the traffic control or protection for others living in or outside the town limits? This event is bringing enough people to feel up most NFL stadiums. Years ago I could recall peoples coolers being search for alcohol, but this year you could see it being brought in by the cases walking down the road. What happened to a small town event with good food and families with their children and good honest fun? Are we promoting alcohol? We must know that the motel in Urbanna couldn't keep all the people that were drunk, are we also condoning drinking and driving? I personally feel that acohol should be banded from the festivals to come!! Can we have fun with out it??
