It was interesting to note which council people wanted to wait to vote on this issue. That should be a clear indication as to their real feelings. Wonder why they have a problem with starting the government business meeting in that manner? Our Commisioners Court uses that manner. It shows respect and sets the tone for that meeting. Will someone please explain the rule about seperation of church and state to those two dummies on the council. They really do not understand the most basic of rules that is clear from their action on council in their previous terms. What a couple of bubbas. That is what you get when the majority of the citizens here neglect to do their civic duty and vote.

When I originally made the post to my FB that I would request that "prayer" and ABSOLUTELY the Pledege, I wasnt asking for an all out Come to Jesus Meeting. Remember, I am ethnically and in my observance - a Jew. I love Jesus. Do I expect ANYONE to believe as I do? Absolutely NOT. What I wanted was for our Council and those in the audience to take a moment to ask for blessings for those making decisions and for those who would be effected by their decisions. I just dont know where else to start my day and making decisions that in silence with my Creator. I grew up Christian here in this city. I understand that Christianity is the "religion" of this city. Out of respect for the majority (and we are still using that in our democracy-majority rules) we should be following what the community desires. If there are those on Council that do not want to pray, then let them close their ears. If they dont want to stand up and respect our flag and pledge their Oath to it, then get off OUR Council. If you are not proud to be an American and you will not uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, then please get off OUR Council...you do not represent US!

Now you are showing how little you know about civil rights. Majority rules......true democracy. What do you call 3 wolves and 1 sheep voting on what's for dinner? You really should have paid more attention in civics class. Are you going to volunteer to keep an isle clear in the coucil chamber do when someone decides to infill a rug and bow to the east they have a place? I am all about prayer. I just don't need you or the council telling me when or how I should do it.

Yes, indeed we all should pray in our own way. But I think maybe somebody needs to go back and listen to the City's attorney and what he said at that Council meeting. Do you want the council to blaze ahead without due diligence and then be faced with huge legal costs to defend that decision? I listened to the audio of that meeting again, and I counted 'em and ALL of them were in favor of implementing prayer but legal diligence must be pursued. Come on even you are smarter than that - go back and listen again and count. And, just watch and see ..you may see the ACLU here any day. I hear they have already been alerted. Which may mean that they start bussing in their protest groups any day. Be ready. Pandora's box has been opened. County, School District, College, and Hospital District are all at risk as well. So, I am asking all prayer warriors to fall on their knees and ask for God's intervention so that this does not escalate while giving the City Attorney time to verify current rulings and advise the council. Only a fool would make that decision without due diligence and what the Circuit of appeals will do and advice from their attorney. Pray and ask your Church to join you in prayer for this matter. This is a matter of utmost urgency for all prayer warriors. Let's do it right so that we don't have any more ill feelings between this group and our elected officials. They really are trying to make the right decision. Rather than talk in the negative, perhaps our time would be more effective spent in petitioning our Lord to resolve this matter.

I almost laughed out loud at this. Not because of the subject matter, but at the statement "But I think maybe somebody needs to go back and listen to the City's attorney and what he said at that Council meeting. Do you want the council to blaze ahead without due diligence and then be faced with huge legal costs to defend that decision?" You are all about to find out why that statement would be hilarious if that lack of "due diligence" hadnt cause such a mess for our City. And, Please do not shoot the messenger here. This should have been done LONG AGO! Let me give you all a little Hint - this is a portion of our Weatherford City Charter: Charter reference— City manager, art. IX,§ 1 et seq. (9)City attorney. The city attorney, or acting city attorney, shall be available upon request for all meetings of the council unless excused and shall, upon request, give an opinion, either written or oral, on questions of law. The city attorney shall act as the council's parliamentarian. And, now that the City Council had you vote on a Proposition in 2010 and YOU passed it so that they are not responsible for appointing the City Atty....then this once again falls into the City Manager's lap....that lap is about to retire....then Hello Sharon Hayes! You get to answer for Alllllllll these issues. Hold on to your little hat, our Council is great at throwing City Mgr under the bus. Your Busy as a Bee Weatherford Activist Tawni Maughan!

Tawni say something intelligent for a change. The council also needs to act in a proficient manner. that means not jumping onto a band wagon. This means not only doing their due diligence but also asking the citizens. This gives them time to ask the general public what their thoughts are.

You aspire to be a civic leader in Weatherford. All leadership demands taking on a great responsibility. Sorry, I fell into the floor when I read this. let me get my thoughts together.......... Okay.....NO, I am still laughing.......... Okay, are you implying that "leadership" is what you see from our City Govt - Council and City Mgr? I think that I just found why you and I cannot come together. You think what they have been doing all this time is Leadership. If you will meet with me I will give you plenty of documented evidence of the "leadership". I will lead with Inspiration and I do not mean in an elected position. You have no idea what I do and you certainly dont know where I am at doing what you dont know that I am doing. I love what I do. No, I dont need a J.O.B. Why does it bother you that my father is a good dad? What would you do with your estate, wait until you die and let it all be eaten up in taxes? My dad is GREAT! I just dont understand why that bothers you so much. I am sorry if your dad wasnt so good to you but I am sure he has done his best. I honestly share so much and I am not anxious for a thing. I know that my Creator has always given me what I needed. Always!

Taking personal responsibility for yourself is a requirement of leadership. When an aspiring leader hasn't taken responsibilty for herself after being on this earth for 50 years, she should kiss her leadership aspirations good-bye and go on with her life, spending whatever money her Mom and Dad have left. You seriously do NOT know my parents. When my father told my brother and I that he was going to be volunteering at a charitable organization as a Councilor, we thought "oh great! he is going to tell those poor people if they are having troubles they should get to work and if that doesnt fix em, they better get two jobs"....LOL He did a great job at it though. I guess when he isnt your parent he isnt so hard on ya. Rest assured sweetie, I am doing just fine. But, I still dont understand why it bothers you so much that I do what I want to do? I am happy, I would think that would make you happy for me.

This would then apply to Jan Barton, who sucks at the tithe of "Z"
