This man went around taking pictures at parks and other locations with-out anyone noticing he was photographing kids. I wish I could have seen him doing this so I could immediately call the police and the ambulance after I ran him over.

I think it's highly hypocritical when people speak of violence whenever some case like this happens. Everyone is so in love with the precious innocent until proven guilty ideal, that people seem to forget it.

If guilty, he deserves a lot of time.. but no trial yet... slow down!

That's the 2nd story in the last couple of days where the perpetrator lived on the 3700 block of Jade. The other ... "Zachery R. Robertson, 19, of the 3700 block of Jade Avenue, is charged with two first-degree felony counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 and three counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor." I've lived in Las Colinas for 15 years and it sure is sad to see it turn into a such a ghetto. The spray paint on all the traffic signs and these stories are signs of a society in decline.

Well Jim someone should have seen this guy was running with the devil and they did not. We often turn a blind eye to this because we fail to see the evidence. Then we try and give the poor excuse of a legal system a chance to cover up for the fact we failed these children. Some times we want everyone to be a good person and do not pay any attention to the what is in a persons heart. It is a shame people do not see what is fact and what is camouflage.

You are entitled to your opinion, so here is mine.

A person that I knew for 14 years (he had a job that required a security clearance) was caught with child pornography as he tried to solicit what he thought was a 9 year old girl for sex.

In his chat sessions with other people he talked about how he could not wait for me to slip up and for him to have time alone with my kids!!!!!!!!! He offered to baby sit on various occasions and though he was a trusted friend I always said no thank you.

He is now going to serve 10 years without parole federal time. He is also going to get 45 years state time, though he will not serve all of it.

Not saying lets kill this guy, just saying he is not likely being framed and people feel strongly about this, I certainly do.

hmmm...the article says that after an investigation this man was arrested. really? i think the 19 year old turned him in maybe trying to get a lighter sentence.

here's the problem i have with this article. if it truly was an investigation that occurred before the arrest then these officers/investigators would've known about the 19 year olds habits and thereby prevented him from sexually assaulting an 11 year old.

if that is the case...now who's fault is it?

this is free speech. i have the right to express my opinion as guaranteed by the first amendment to the United States Constitution.

here's a question what do they do with the images that they find? do they destroy them or after confiscating them do they pass them around and share them? kinda like the el paso county sheriffs department with the recovered stolen gasoline that they are now using themselves.

by the way if anything should happen to me it's because of these posts. do not trust the dona ana district attorney!

How do you know it is the same house? Do you know them? Since you know much should be investigated?

No wonder the mind calendar states the world is going end in 2012.

As it shows right now in 2009 humanity is already ending. Everyone is so quick to judge each other without all history or facts.

For example, everyone is trying to persecute the 19 year old without all the facts (just per media report) and not knowing the whole story. At 19 one is still a teenager not a man. By law 17 or old is considered an adult but are they mature enough to make adult decisions. I know people in their 20’s not mature enough.

I understand you are putting your opinion of the 19 year old turning in the other person but without fact are you stirring up more trouble? Putting unneeded ideas he peoples heads.

As an adult I base my decisions on fact not speculation.

I think the point of the article is to make the citizens aware of this guys activities. If they feel that he has done something suspicious around their children then it needs to be reported. I find it unlikely that a guy that has thousands of images of child pornography and has actively went out to photograph children in public places has not, in some way or another, tried to hurt a child. Hopefully, the parents of these children will come forward and will make putting this guy away for the rest of his life a little easier for the prosecutors. I wish all parents were as strong as you Get Real!!! Keep up the fight. Law enforcement is not the enemy. They do what they can to keep these guys from hurting children and I know they are passoniate about the job they do day in and out. I for one appreciate all they do as much as Get Real does.

This is the second forum I have seen you in defending these guys.... are you one of them or are you a close friend who is trying to "sway" public opinion? First of all was the 19 year old completely at fault for what happened, absolutely not but he still is guilty of committing a crime. Now I understand that the victim may have been able to pass for 15 or even 16 but come on, he is 19!! Why would a 19 year old go for a 16 year old honestly? The guy was trying to get himself a piece from what he thought was easy prey and it backfired on him, I say he deserves what he gets. He should just be glad i am not the father of this girl because it would be hunting season bigtime and you can bet that he would be safer in jail!
As for the other guy, can you say "Preponderance of Evidence"? If Law Enforcement did find all the child porn they are claiming to have found on his computer, Flashdrives and cell phone, then its an open and closed case in my book! Get this perv off the streets so that the residents of that neighborhood and this community can rest a little easier.
Quit being naive or defending these guys which ever it is you are doing!

the guy with all of the porn already admitted to police that he is addicted to child porn. that alone with him being in possession of thousands of photos, is enough to convict him "BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT." expect a guilty plea at his arraignment.

I am not defending anyone. The only thing is I do not know all the facts and neither does anyone else unless they are pesonally involved in the investigation or the case. What I am saying is everyone is only going by what the media is stating.

I agree both are at fault, but I am trying to also think of the families of both. Is it fair to punish the families for the mistakes of other? Could the 50 year old have children in the house or at school listening to or reading some of the comments. I try to think of others not involved but affected.

We all know opinions are like ***holes and everyone has one.

One more issue. This is the only article I have comment on. It just so happens there are two articles about the same issue and person. Please do not assume I am defending anyone unless you personally know me which I doubt. Anyway we all know what assume means.

Name calling solves nothing. No the article just states 3700 blk Jade Ave. No where does it state both were at the same house. Yes, one assumes because there was already an investigation going. But when one assumes is makes an *** u me.

Damn it moderator! I was not nasty, abusive or threatening. Just because I voiced my concern about what is happening to my home town, you did NOT have to go pull my comment. Who are you, part of the Chamber of Commerce? People deserve to know in advance what this town is like BEFORE moving here and they can decide from there. I love this city but, hate what it has become. Generally speaking, TODAY'S society is in worse condition than it was when I was young. Stop being such a sphincter and let me comment!

haha...the article, along with other news stories, state that the guy was investigated after someone in his home was arrested. other sources go further to say that it was indeed the 19 year old rapist who also resided at the residence. i have read your other posts here and on the other story, and it seems to me that you sympathize with these two quite a bit. maybe a relative or friend of one of the two? or maybe i will ASSUME to think that you are into the same hobbies? just thought if i am going to make an assumption, i'll make it a good one.

if you base your decisions on fact then you must've missed a few facts before you made this post....let's start with it's the MAYAN calendar not the "mind" calendar.

that one's for free.

now maybe you have caught up with the news story because it was in the news, in the papers and on tv. the 19 year old was the boyfriend of this man's daughter. after arresting the 19 year old the police got a search warrant and searched the house and discovered the child porn on the man's computer.

now what makes that questionable is...they searched an area that did not belong to the 19 year old, but that's for the lawyers to fix. i'm pretty sure the search warrant, if they truly had one, did not specify what area they were allowed to search. it's called "plain sight" they are not allowed to just tear apart someone's property to look for anything. they had to have knowledge that the child porn existed. they had to have probable cause in order to search the house AND that is why i said he might've sold out the man for a lesser sentence. the police cannot assume the 19 year old had porn just because he met up with an 11 year old who swore she was 15. that does not constitute probable cause...well maybe in dona ana county it does, but in the rest of the United States, no.

finally the 19 year old was dating this man's daughter and yet they do not say how old she is...hmmmmm...worse yet he i presume was living with them, dating her and did the ultimate cheat-fest with a minor. clearly shows where his head is at.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Virgo

You aren't fooling anyone - it's easy for everyone else to see that inexperienced people are unaware of their obligations, Virgo. You're grumpy about starting a familiar process from the beginning again, but don't let that get in the way of getting on with it. Sour grapes have no place in your daily dealings. Although you may 'own' a project, it's ultimately in the hands of someone else. Deal with it and then move on.
