Anyone had any problems. Mean secretaries? Hard to get help? Misinformation? I have heard different things from different people. Looking for your opinion and especially anything specific. Good or bad. I am listening.

yes, I have had several problems with the school, and I know that many other parents have had problems with the school, not only with the secretaries, teachers, principal, other kids, and the superindedant of the schools, and bulling. I'm at the point to where I'm looking for a bunch of parents to just team together and get an attorney and sue the school district, and I know there is other parents out there, that has had their child bullied and the school, and treated poorly by this school. I'm also taking my kids out of Fremont School district and going somewhere different. I'm just plan sick of the Fremont Schools. Then they are getting a new school, like they really need it, what they need is all new teachers, not a new school.

I haven't had much of a problem with the counseling office staff, but one of the secretaries in the main office is not very friendly. She's been rude to me and a couple of the students when I have been in there.

I have heard nothing but "noone at the counseling office cares about us!"; went to Hope College for a tour, and learned more there than we EVER learned from the counseling office about colleges/do's and don'ts, support, etc. I agree, there is one secretary in the main office whose demeaner leaves ALOT to be desired; she is rude and the kids hate to go to the office because she is so mean. She doesn't even have the professionalism to give her name when she answers the phone, so I call her "Fremont High School". I don't know her name even! I have to say, I have a family member in this school currently and am unable to talk to the school officials about my concerns as my family member fears retaliation. Too bad. We can all learn from others.

Thanks for all the comments so far. I am especially concerned about the outcasting of students. Not sure what your church affiliation is, but sometimes it is like unless you belong to the right local church you don't belong here. Christian conerts in the High School. Christian prayers at graduation-where's the ACLU??? They just got 44 million for a school and they want to give away money in a religious law suit.

I graduated in '06 and it WAS a joke trying to get information about college. I understand that each student has to do their own steps in getting the information, but they were anything but helpful. These people could care less. And that woman in the office has ALWAYS been rude. My mother filed many complaints but nothing everrrrrrr happened. She was, and apparently always will be, rude. I guess she just hates her job?

I'm glad to hear I am not the only parent concerned about what is happening or is not happening at Fremont High School. The counseling office hasn't been much help to us either. What is the purpose of this office, just scheduling? Do they provide counseling or extra help for kids who are struggling or have social issues? This is an area that needs focus at FPS.
As far as the front office, they have two secretaries, one has a good attitude and the other needs to work on it.
I agree that bullying is a problem at this school too, as it is in many schools. I think they are trying to make some positive changes, but they can't control all of the kids all of the time. We had an issue this year with bullying and I know of 2 other kids who have left or are leaving because of it.
As families struggle, the kids of those families will struggle also and sometimes act out in school. I want to see a counseling office that will get help for these kids who act out..they act out because they are hurting. We need staff at FPS who will be sensitive to this and act appropriately. Make good decisions.
