He WAS a Marine, not IS. He lost Marine status when he chose to shove a knife into an unarmed man not once, not even twice, but THREE times!! And logic doesn't come into play when you're talking about murder. There was NO logic behind what happened. There was NO "hostile enough environment" created by Greg. There were NO "remaining attackers". But it's ok...it'll all come out soon enough. And to the person who said Greg got "payback"...why not be man (or woman) enough to explain to all of us how exactly you figure that? Hmmm???

Even being a friend of Knowles, i still have doubts about that night's events. I dont deny that. After all, they are charging him with 2nd degree murder. There has to be due cause for concern. But, I know Ashton, and i know he would not kill a man for no good reason. In his mind, he saw that he needed to use deadly force to protect himself. If he used bad judgement, then he will pay for that. But his intentions were not malicious. He is a good man, and a good father. But, we will see what the evidence shows. Though, even still, we will never know exactly what went down that night. We can just go by the accounts we read, and the opinions we choose to adhere to.

I would guess that a lot of people on this forum know Ashton. Including myself...for 18yrs. But I also know Greg, and have for 30yrs. The truth will come out. Some will choose not to believe it. Some will say that's what they knew all along. Either way, he killed a man and should be punished rather than being allowed to roam free and do as he wishes.

PNUT BUTTER LOVER wrote: <quoted text> I found out today to my surprise that a cousin of the guy that was killed is a very close friend of mine. Her husband just happens to be a Metro Detective. I asked her about this and what was suppose to have happened. She said the deceased had a real nice bike which he parked outside the bar. The perpetrator came into the bar looking for a fight and for "some reason" approached Greg who told him he wanted no trouble and was just in the bar trying to relax. When the guy said he wanted to take it outside, Greg thought it best to go outside to make sure the guy didn't do anything to his bike. I asked his cousin how the perpetrator knew which bike belonged to Greg if he didn't really know Greg. She said everyone that has a bike and frequents that bar knows whose bike is whose. That didn't hold water with me at all. At any rate, for no reason the guy stabbed Greg. There had to be a reason that he picked Greg out of everyone in the bar to confront. I'm sure it wasn't random. I told my friend that she was too biased about what happened. I feel there's more to this story than what we're being told. But as you've said, I'm not sure the events played out as the DA would like us to believe. YEAH......it was planned!
