White Bear Lake's Johnson Boat Works project advances

The redevelopment of the Johnson Boat Works site took another step forward this month, with the White Bear Lake City Council telling developer Dennis Properties to draft an agreement on a commercial-residential plan for the lakeside lot.

Developing this Johnson site for commercial and civic use is great but please don't spam the site with residential condos etc.. Residential units will only created problems for the future the least of which would be unique crime, parking, and public accessibility to the location.

Think before you recklessly cram and/or develop residential sites in an area of public traffic and access like the Johnson lakefront area!

Access to the "Johnson lakefront"? What access? It is all docks. If you don't own a slip, you have no access. If this is going to be a public place, get rid of the docks.
