...and you're first to show us this Mike.

(1) It's "There are", not 'their is'... Their shows ownership & their is shows plural intent in singular form.

(2) "Too many", not 'to many'. You should use 2 o's when emphasizing on something being "too much".

(3) Now go DO something stupid instead of just typing it here (not hear Mike, here)- that way you'll fit right into your own qoute =)

Well, "mike", you've REALLY made Rantoul proud of you.

Why don't you go for the "world record" for screw-ups in a 12-word statement !

It is time to raise taxes to fund essential County services before it is too late. Senior services and care, healthcare for the disadvantaged and public safety (just to name a few)need to be maintained. Once these services are diminished, they will be much more costly to restore. County residents have enjoyed minimal tax increases for several years. Residents receive cost of living increases and pay raises annually on thier jobs, it is time to properly fund County services with some sort of tax increase(s).

why not cut the waste and fluff of the pet projects for the county board members first. I find in odd that there is a budget crisis yet the county board found the meoney to give themselves raises. Schillerstrom is a moron and a thief referring to stealing form the DuPage Water commission. The Sheriff's deputies have not recieved a raise in five years and they are driving old worn out squads. Public safety should be first and foremeost. Oh dont forget Schillerstroms TWO P.R peolpe he hired at premium salaries ($90,000+ a year) to make him look good, like he has done something right for this county. We need to get back to supplying core services, public works, roads, law enforcement. then when the coffes have recovered worry about the other pet projects

I agree 100%! Why don't we cut the board of director's salaries first. They should be setting the example, not just raising our taxes.

Yes these are good points, and I agree as well with salary adjustments over tax hiking - but I want to hear what Mike from Rantoul has to say about all this now....

Mike, your thoughts?

Genius - while you're correcting others, keep in mind the word is spelled "quote," not "qoute."

Good call Reasonable, you're right and that's reasonable.

While my ultramild dyslexia sometimes deceives me, I do know how to spell and enunciate unlike Mike from Rantoul - but alas I missed that one.

I also don't get off on correcting others generally, it's just not my way. But as for Mike's statement let's be reasonable, something had to be said.

Oh Patrick! How could you!.... Oh you must sit on the board. OK raise taxes, to those who can afford it, i.e. People who can afford to live in wheaton. While you're at it, find out where and why all the school tax hikes have gone, and also why almost none of it makes to the schools!?

Maybe they should have saved some of the tens of millions of dollars they spent expanding the County Farm offices?
The writing was on the wall this year regarding taxes. Housing is going down in value and they have accomodated all of us with higher tax bills over the last few years. What happened to all of that excess. They spent it and now cry wolf when they don't have enough for all of the services. BS. There are definately too many fluff projects.

Are the taxes worse in DuPage than in Cook county? I've always wondered about that.

I love the way people complain about fluff and waste - that's not going away if the sales tax fails, people!! You're taxes mostly go to the schools so if you want lower taxes, start there. Show me the waste in public safety - it's not there, it IS run like a business. It's public safety that's on the chopping block, and voting against that is like cutting your own throat. Or all the crooks that will love the DuPage meltdown and do it for you.

They could reduce staff in the building dept., now that housing starts are down to ALMOST NOTHING, they don't need as many people.
