Just a warning to those of you getting new balconies. The builder has been accused of going into a residents condo while the owners were not home. They also harassed several other owners that complained about the horrible workmanship. Alot of the balconies they've built do not meet building code laws. Lisa in the office will do nothing and has actually broken many state laws that apply to condo associations.

1 They didn't, but our association won't do anything and since I've been out of town for the last 8 months, I haven't been able to do anything. Before you open your ignorant mouth, do some research. Contact DuPage County and get a copy of the inspection reports. Another option is to just take a look at how the balconies are built. All you have to do is look at all the sagging stairs on Maple Terrace. Also look at the kind of bolts used and look at what they are using now. Nothing will be done until someone gets hurt and then it will be us, the homeowners, that'll pay the price. |

1 The reason only 8 people go to meetings is because the rest of us know it's a waste of time. The board will do what they want for themselves and thier friends. As far as "condo law" moron, I DO know the law. Try shutting your mouth and looking it up, it's right their on the internet. The problems with enforcing the law is that in order to do so, we must pay a lawyer and take them to court. Now the problem invloves finding a decent honest lawyer to take the case. The many lawyers I spoke with and the one I hired all told me they would not take the case to court. Why? There is NO MONEY in it. Bottom line, this poser is either a board member or friends with one. Those of you who are new to living in 4 lakes are not aware of how this place used to be when decent people were running things,(meaning before Lisa). These condos should be selling for thousands of dollars more then they are. Ask any realtor |

1 Listen buddy, I have a news flash for you, your association and board is only as good as you make it. The board members are owners just like you and just like you they have jobs and are doing this on a voluntary basis. You sit back and let others make your decisions, then you complain about those decisions after the fact. On top of that you are not helping, have you cleaned your area? Have you attended one meeting or sent a single letter with photos? This place is huge, so a little information goes a long way. And as for the maintenance team, they are very good. I really love to see people like you post because you do not take the appropriate steps to help your community, you would rather complain instead of take an active role. You are wasting my time. |

Take the time to actualy read the posts, or have your mommy read it to you before you open your ignorant mouth. Try to see if your tiny little brain can understand. It's been stated that going to meetings does no good. Second, as stated, people have complained but it does no good. Go back and read where the maintenance crew simply stole some chairs instead of actually doing anything. You could try getting off your fat ass and taking a walk behind 1611 Maple Terrace and see for yourself. Yes the board members are owners. Thats why they get on the board, so they can get whatever they need done for themselves. Take a look around board members properties or the condo office then compare that to where non board members live. I tried very hard to get some help from Lisa and the board members, but they do whatever they want. I even offered to pay to have some work done.Ignorant morons like you that just shoot off their mouths should'nt be allowed to speak. |

The negativity and anger you spew at your long term neighbors is disturbing. We are normal people with normal lives trying to make this place better in a tough economy. You are welcome to be angry, spew hatred and complain about the failings of your community. The simple fact is you do not add anything to this community except contempt for your neighbors and that does none of us any good. I suggest you sell, we don't need this type of activity or behavior. |

Think its bad now, wait until the non-residents investors on the board try to change the original 1980 by-law 5.1 under "administration", which at least requires residency for board members.
Watch for the vote in August, my neighbor went to the meeting and they want all spots for non-residents a.k.a. investors if the bylaw is changed. I'll call the office on your behalf and complain. Maybe you should ask for help on this site....instead of attacking.... |

I'm not attacking you or anyone, the other guy said he would waste time and money suing Condo #1 instead of taking the time to make positive changes. That is our money that would be spent to defend any lawsuit, money better spent fixing things. The board is not special, they are simply people we put in office, if you don't like the way things are then run for the board yourself or vote them out. Folks, if you like this type of behavior in your community, them you are not in touch with what is going on. Check your property value and ask yourself, can i afford not to be involved? |
