the father prob. should have spun the smartmouth kid around a few times himself instead of calling the police.

the cop should of did a few more times until these young punks start showing repect for adults

the kid probably mouthed off to the cop, but if the cop knows the law, he should never lay a hand on a child unless it is a matter of saftey for himself, the kid, or others. Yes, the kid needs to be taught manners and to respect adults, but (I am now playing devil's advocate) the cop probably said something to the kid too, things he shouldn't be saying to a child. What do I think should happen really? Nothing. The kid didn't get hurt (not more than his pride for being shown up in front of his friend) and teh cop didn't do any real harm.

Why is a 15 year old getting smart with a grown man? He needs a spanking. The Officer did not HARM the kid, either so it is not a big deal.

I agree, but this officer should have known better than to put his hands on this kid. A smart mouth kid will eventually get his, but the CP I know would never risk their job over this scumball kid. Also most cops are watching for kids /families setting them up for a quick settlement from the city, police brutality pays big in Chicago. Without any cameras or witnesses the person can say anything and bruise himself up. This will just result in cops not really helping out in these areas and we will see more killings due to gang violence in these areas going unsolved......
