A Virginia Property Tax Exemption for Veterans statewide ballot question is on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Virginia as an legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. The amendment will ask the voters of Virginia if they will approve or reject a property tax exemption for a armed forces veteran or their surviving spouse if the veteran had a 100 percent permanent and total disability related to military service.
The ballot question reads:
Shall the Constitution be amended to require the General Assembly to provide a real property tax exemption for the principal residence of a veteran, or his or her surviving spouse, if the veteran has a 100 percent service-connected, permanent, and total disability?
How will you vote on November 2nd?

Vietnam vets didn't fight for freedom at all. Sorry.
When someone goes into the military, they all have freedom in their hearts. But, once in combat, you are fighting to save your and your buddies azz. Plain and simple, no moms apple pie, the flag, or anything else.

I don't want anyone kissing my ass either Did I tell you I served in the nam with marines? Some of those guys got killed (did you know that?). We are not interested in you kissing our ass but won't hesitate to allow you to feel fortunate for your voting rights, and please don't infer I'm saying I am responsible for you having those rights cause I'm not trying to boost my comment board ego here or have my ass kissed. But please know that I served, and to steal the words of Jack Nickolson, just consider thanking me.
Welcome home brother. I was Army,'68-'69, the fun times. Take care my friend!

Real veterans are like my father n law and my wifes grandfather, her dad served in vietnam and her grandfather served in world war ii ,when they got out they both got regular jobs, and work for years never depending on the government for a hand-out,they are real men that don't ride around. Trying to act like a disabled war hero, with sniper bumper stickers and four loaded guns,in my book you are a loser, and a worthless piece of shit!

I feel that anyone who is willing to put their own lives on the line for their country and the people who live in it deserve some respect. I have to admit that i would not be brave enough to do that. Thank you to each and everyone of our military past and present.

My husband was 100% service connected when he passed away, so when he passed away his pension he had been getting was cut in a 3rd. That is all I get, along with a small diability check of mine own. So yes I agree because it is hard for a spouse to make ends meet with the cost of electric power, and food, and anything else she or he should need, I am talking about necessities. I pay property taxes, by taking every dime I have and they are due at Christmas time, so it makes the Christmas slim.
You are dadburn right I agree.

Only a year in the reserves? What's up with that?

If you go back and look, the property tax break is for those who are disabled.

Never heard of low interest car loans for vets. If you are a vet, you can get a guaranteed home loan with no down payment.

Unfortunately the widows of the 100% service-connected disabled were left and forgotten when it came to enacting this legislation.

Shut up. No one in Vietnam fought for American freedom, and that's a fact. Look it up. Stop kissing "azz."

I support all military, but they haven't fought for our freedom in many, many years. Don't get support the military for risking their lives versus military fighting for freedom confused.

You funny, you stupid. Go to any VA hospital, and say that out load you sorry candyassMFer. We vets don't ask for handouts like you welfare loving clowns. But we served with honor, and neither you nor that liberal clown in the white house can take that away from us. They say Texas only has Qs and steers, and you don't have horns sissy-boy.

You need to take a chill pill, and stop quoting Full Metal Jacket. It's not a pro war film, which you clearly are.

I dare you to meet No No in person. What's that? You say you can't because you don't know who he is? We don't know who you are either.

Why don't you go into a gay bar and say you hate everyone in there and see what happens. I bet you won't. Go to the Wallstreet protest and call them lazy liberals. I bet you won't. You're an anonymous coward who thinks he's really big in the saddle, when you're really a sad, lonely person who thinks they're standing up for the military, when the military isn't going anywhere. It's not like Obama would abolish the military and let terrorists take over; I bet you think he would though, because you're an ignorant redneck who is so lonely that you need topix to put other people down.

And if you want to meet ME in person, I'll oblige.

Good day.

Galax, you are sooooo mistaken. I'm sorry you are confused by my statements, but I don't have the time or energy to explain it to you. As far as meeting you in person, I bet we have enough in common that we could enjoy each others company. It's a shame that probably won't happen, as it would enlighten us both. Good luck to you sir, as life is too short for vets to argue about what non-vets do not know.
