Local man murdered, one arrested - Ft. Bragg Advocate-News

Personally I think AAron deserves a medal,his actions are going to save alot of young men from going through the same suffering he and many others have had to endure at the hands this pedifile. "GOD BLESS YOU AARON". As far as I'm concerned this is SELF-DEFENSE. This man has been killing aaron over and over for many years,and he finally got what he deserved,and now he gets to burn in Hell.The only way to stop these pedifiles is to let them know that if they defile our children-they will die for it.An eye for an eye, a life for a life Darrel took Aarons life from him and any one who is a victim of molestation knows thats true. One less peice of scumm on the face of the earth. "GOOD JOB AARON"

Darrel was a BOY SCOUT leader in the seventy check that out ??????????

What a sad story. I wish Aaron had gotten some help before he took the steps he did. But we can't undo some things and I hope he can get some help and leniency from the court system.

His name was Darrell....not Darnell...so as much as your opinion is appreciated...you're missing facts...I grew up with Aaron from the sandbox and through High School...If you have something to say..at least get the parties concerned correct..you're talking about two serious crimes...And someone who may be bound to prison and one who is bound to death..Respect the situation before you speak on it...At first I thought it was a Typo..but, you got his name wrong every time in your post..respect that he is gone from this planet...although I am in Aaron's Corner..The Deceased's Family does read these posts...so, again if you have something to say..get the names right.

The Beren's and the Christians are totally innocent in this whole situation, NONE of them knew anything about Darrell's double life, and I hope the community will keep that in mind. This will all be taken care of in a court of LAW. NOT the court of public opinion. God bless both familys.

Just because I got his name incorrect doesn't mean I don't have something valid to say. I have an opinion no matter what. Maybe you should be a little more respectful. And I agree with you...the deceased family does read these posts and I firmly believe that my post would not be the one they find disrespectful. I was about the only person on here honoring his life. Maybe you just didn't like that I had a point.....

I can't believe there's no mention of drugs with this case.

Don't go off on a Respect kick. I'm being far from disrespectful to your feelings. This is a Public Forum with feelings of those close to both indiviguals. I was simply correcting you on the facts, that you yourself feel are valid. All I ask as a concerned and former resident of that area ask, is that you get the two parties concerned correct. No offense needed.

Not defending Darrel because I do not know all the facts but all these people who know of Darrel molestation for years and decades WHY was nothing said? I can understand the people who were molested not saying anything, but all these people on this board who claim to know Darrel was molesting for decades why was nothing said?

I have know the Vargas family for 40 years. Aaron should be judged for what he did, and why he did it, simple, not any misconceptions derived about any family member. Over time, the true facts will come out, and I ask that Aaron's actions are not judged until that time.

Things were said. Often these monsters go unpunished when they're well known and respected members of the community. Darrell was a business man and was very involved in the community. He was involved in Boy Scouts and the Big Brothers program. He preyed on victims there. The predator is often the last person that people suspect. We need more awareness, preventative measures, and harsher punishment. There should not be a statute of limitation on these cases. These monsters should also not be let out of prison because they cannot be cured and they will do it again.

First of all, I support Aaron Vargas and his family and this is not directed at them. Anyone notice that people who's families were drug through the mud a while back by the AVA are now circulating the AVA article? Back then, I believed that the AVA article was made up about their families, now I no longer do, not at all. It they are pressing the Advocate to print information while no one will actually speak to them and say they actually went through something with McNeil, they are expecting the Advocate to just print rumors like the AVA does. I would like to see Aaron Vargas freed and happy. BUT, I don't want to see people expecting gossip without confirmation of people who were actual witnesses printed. Someone must be willing to actually say they saw something themselves and not through word of mouth. Last time that happened in the AVA, lots of local families acted like that gossip was untrue. If everyone is so up on the AVA and their responsible research, I can start circulating some of my old articles.

I dont give a damn one way or another about the advocate but i can tell everyone this. The AVA ran a story a while back about Fort Bragg Fire Department getting a woman very, very drunk and taking her to the fire house and raping her. This included graphic descriptions of the activities of the night. With the Vargas supporters being so vocal about the AVA's integrity, I would encourage everyone, as an above poster mentions, to start looking at old articles and see if they print the truth or just morbid gossip. My eyes are really open now as I see some of the fire women who swore the AVA articles were lies now supporting the AVA. If those had been lies then, they would NEVER be supporting it now would they? AVA even printed rapits' names, anyone remember who they were? AVA also accused a couple of the fire men of killing another man. If they are so up on facts and truth, let's really discuss their previous articles. There are many, many more.

I want the fire department people to know that when the AVA ran that article, I personally heard some of the main Vargas rabble rousers spreading the rumors about them. I will tell people individually which ones were doing it.
