I drove to Burnside from Huntingdon on Sunday
to see if anything has been done to the old
John and Della Patchin home along Rt. 219.
When I was young I would visit Aunt Della at that huge house. I understand the house is still there under all that mess.They built around it. Am I correct. Could you tell me who owns the property.Everytime I see it I go away sad.

My neighbor has told my family and I on several occasions that her father bought that and was renovating it for his son, who was later killed. Then the work stopped and it's been like that ever since. I believe she told me he had sold it. I think he has passed away as well now. Not sure if any of that is true. I remember driving past it on Sundays on the way to visit my grandmother in Northern Cambria. I was a little kid and I always remembered my parent's telling me that our neighbor's dad built it. Maybe they meant just built around the existing house. Someone fill me in??

I called about the house 3 weeks ago - to see about buying it - the real estate company told me it was closing the following Monday. Don't know for sure if it has, but I will be watching - it's never had good luck. Back when all the renovations began when I was in high school I always thought it would be dreamy to live there......

The inside of the house is completely gutted. Was there a few weeks ago. No walls or ceilings. What a shame that the inside has been lost forever!

Well at least now the house has been bought. It has lost all of its history is sounds like, but they are cleaning it up and hopefully it won't be such an eyesore anymore.

I hope you mean by cleaning it up you don't mean
demolish.
