This is amazing. People move to Collin Co. to get away from the city. Then they can't wait to pave it over completely and turn it into another city. What a terrible waste of open space to make another LBJ in a rual area.

I agree with David Palmer, but the pain of progress is inevitable it seems.

People in Collin County has no choice. We want to keep in Country but the County decided that this is what they wanted not the citizens. People in Farmersville, Tx are still extremely upset about how much of our city this loop is taking and how much beautiful land will be wasted.

I want to stop the "outer loop"... What can be done to kill this monster? I know it will destroy plenty of federal wetlands and possibly indian cultural sites (as well as historic sites) in the Blue Ridge area.

Nobody that I have spoken with in Blue RIdge wants this project to go through.

The county web site has the information, You just have to dig around for it. Associated with the loop is the FEMA declarations on flood planes. They are calling out higer flood contures than will ever flood. The reason is to get more people paying flood insurace to pay for all the damages that occure for folks that do build in the flood plane. Another is so they can aqure land at a cheeper price for the loop/roads to be built in the county. Look at the countures inrelation to roads. Example the flood conture 3 miles above Lavon dam would put water approx. 30 feet pver the spillway I think that is impossible. And FEMA says unless the land owner hires a surveyer and prooves them wrong they wont change the designation.

I would also like to stop this monstrosity as well, since the path this behemoth is taking goes right through the middle of my property. I think one of the best ways to do it is to hold out on whatever offers the county makes on the properties which will jackup the values making it an ever increasing challenge for them to buy the property they need to build it; then again, I could be wrong. Let me know if any of you have any other ideas.

seeing how much fairview has grown(school built right across the street, neighborhoods being built everywhere, my life basically going to hell)... i feel safe in saying the loop would be something great for mckinney, especailly taking highway 5 with all those stop lights, or the stop and go traffic of 380, i have hopes that the loop will cut all that mess out, they say mckinney is a suburb(cant spell) but i say its just growing into a mini-dallas ft.worth metroplex lol

I wish we could stop this. It's unfortunately in the works as we speak. The surveyors are here and they are proceeding. My families farm of almost 100 years now will be sadly hosting a hwy straight through it. It is very, very sad!
