My biotech company, GenoMed, has had encouraging results treating West Nile virus encephalitis since 2003.
We’ve had 82% treatment success rate in people (23 of 28 improved), 75% in horses (6 of 8 survived), and 50% in birds (6 of 12 survived). Our first 8 human WNV patients were published in a peer-reviewed medical journal in 2004 (1), so our treatment officially exists in both the medical and legal senses. We’ve seen that the earlier the treatment is begun, the better the outcome, so public education is key. We’re eager to see if our approach works again this year. Anybody who wants to download our WNV trial protocol can do so for free at any time by clicking on the "West Nile trial" link on our company’s homepage at www.genomed.com . God forbid the Enviro Nazis allow any towns to proactively spray. God forbid any of the leadership in the towns stand up to the nut jobs. Instead we get chowed on all summer long and risk EEE or WNV. Gotta love it.

Also gotta love the precautions that the "experts" tell us to take, like, don't go outside at dawn or dusk, wear long sleeve shirts and long pants, or use bug spray. Sure - great way to enjoy the summer - don't go outside during the pleasant hours of dawn or dusk. Wear those comfy long sleeve sirts and long pants. Oh yea, cover yourself in bug spray if you must be outside - like who would want to be outside in the summer anyway? Oh yea - the only bug spray proven to actaully deter the critters contains deet, and that is a known carcinigen. Just wonderful...but still, we don't spray because no one has the guts to stand up to the nut jobs.
