More people will die from adverse reactions to prescribed medications in the next month than have been injured or killed by the oil industry in the past five decades. Yes, there was a flood in 1997. What does that have to do with any new oil tanks or rail lines? Yes, there was an oil leak one mile below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico. What does that have to do with a rail line on the old Texaco plant? Hoping that something doesn't happen doesn't mean a darn thing. In the mean time, I suggest you stay at home and watch some old TV. I just hope that a meteor doesn't fall out of the sky and destroy your home while you are watching Laura Petrie sliding out of the front closet on a pile of walnuts. You might want to check and see if your spouse has eyes in the back of their head. OONI OOPS Excuse me...I did not mention your spouse. There is no need to revert to imbecilic stuff like that. Let me tell you again...I DO NOT give a damn about your support for Chevron and Cogent. Those people will sell out Lockport in a heartbeat to make a buck...and none of us will get a sniff of that oil. Its already targeted for China and India. Reduce our dependence on foreign oil my ass !! Wait until the Keystone pipeline gets approved...you think Cogent will still use tank cars once that pipeline gets built...don't think so. Then you can stare at those tanks and rail lines all you want when those two oilers run out on Lockport. People like you cannot listen to opposing views on anything...only to revert to idiotic comments on ones spouse. Disagree all you care to on my comments...but please leave family or spouses OUT OF THE DISCUSSION. TRY REAL HARD TO HAVE SOME CLASS...OKAY !!

I guess you are the one with the eyes in the back of your head. I'll listen to alternative uses of the Chevron property as soon as someone approaches Chevron for the alternative use. Until then, I'll listen to what Cogent has to say.

I always look at this forum and when I saw your name I had to be sure it was you. We have the infamous name stealer, the man of a thousand names on here and I might add all the different communities. You are exactly right. They lost and they can't get over it. Once a loser, always a loser in so many things. They thrive on people being stupid and then they go for them. It is not going to happen again, ever, in this town. Their little game is up. The property has special uses and that is what it will be used for, safely. No playgrounds will go there so the majority can play in them.

This is why CARE gets dismissed - they rave with emotion and no logic. Why would they bother to bring oil to the Midwest refineries only to forward it to China? That doesn't even make semse and you don't have any facts to back up your claim that it is already slated for China/India. They are bringing the oil here to sell to Shell and Citgo who will turn it into gas that will go in your car. Until Sandy'ssb quits his job at the refinery and the rest of CARE rides their bikes everywhere, I don't what to hear about the evils of oil and gas. The Keystone pipeline is for Canadian tar sand oils to be sent to the Texas refineries. This CoGent proposal is for Domestic oil from the Dakotas to the midwest refineries. Besides, this is all a proposal. I want to hear what they have to say. We can always say no. Tearing the throats out of the only developer to court Lockport and accusing them of everything from purposfully trying to contaminate our ground water to gleefully flooding the West Side while they count their money will scare off any future developer from trying to work with Lockport. Who the hell would ever want to develope in a place where people wont even allow a plan to be developed for consideration?

Those gals, and I say that unwillingly, are proposing everything from kiddie parks, etc. They are not knowledgeable about what can go on there. It has special uses and people for play cannot go on there. Read it and you will see what I mean. You are right in that they are accusing everyone of everything they can come up with. It is all supposition. Kimberly Jones knows the area and knows what can and cannot go on there. Those ladies have opposed everything and I do mean everything that they have come up with to place on there. It is total ignorance and they sure have the right city council to listen. If another development does not go, nothing will ever go there. They own it, and they have a right to sell it and the options will be known by the people with the expertise. As always, that is not the city council but the planner. Thanks planning commission for a job well done.
