Part 2

About 17 people in Homer Glen have protested the culling in Messenger Woods, one of three preserves targeted this year by the district. A couple of weeks ago they carried signs opposing the effort at the preserve entrance.
Tomczak said he was not part of that effort. However, he was asked by the group to review district documents they received about the program through the Freedom of Information Act. In researching the issues for his neighbors, Tomczak said he, too, became concerned that the district wasn’t taking into account deer hunted on private property near the preserve, which also reduces the numbers.
Tomczak, who now works as a private attorney in Joliet, said when he went to explore the culling site, he entered from his own property and did not know district police officers had closed the preserve before sundown for the culling effort.
He wouldn’t say if he dumped chemicals on the bait or sprayed trees so the deer wouldn’t be shot by sharp shooters later that night.
“I’m not going to talk about what happened out there,” he said.“I think I was a bit overticketed.”
Murphy said Messenger Woods also is a state nature preserve, which gives it a higher level of protection, so he is consulting with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to see if there could be additional charges for dumping a petrochemical in a nature preserve.
If so, Murphy said he may hand the case over to State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow, who defeated Tomczak for the office in 2004.
Tomczak said Glasgow should look into the deer-culling program.
“I hope Jim will take a look at it,” Tomczak said.“I know Jim is an animal lover.”
Murphy said the case is tentatively set to come before Judge Roger Rickmon on April 12.
‘All of the trouble’
So far, 117 deer have been culled from Messenger Woods, McKinley Woods and Lockport Prairie. The program will end when 135 have been culled or March 31, whichever comes first, Murphy said.
There have been no protests at the other two preserves.
“All of the trouble is coming from Homer Township,” Murphy said.“There are 17 people there who aren’t willing to accept the fact that we’re culling deer.”

Gee since the news of the esteemed Jeffy getting arrested there hasn't been a single crybaby, whining post.

Suprising?

Not when you consider the little team of fools.

Dont kill the deer and create an environmental waste land where only tree rats and scavengers survive. Deer will browse as high as they can reach on there back legs 8 ft or more and eat everything on the ground. nary arabbit or mouse will have anything to eat. Great way to have a "Forrest preserve"
You moved into the animals back yard , you should do them the courtesy of managing the herd and being good stewards of the land for the other woodlands critters.

Kill It and Grill It is correct. The herd must be managed. Herds are monitored and managed nationwide. The difference here is the lot of entitlement crybabies who are all about themselves thinking that they are entitled to some Disney-like enchanted woods. Hey maybe these efforts could be better directed to teach the animals to talk! Anyone seen Mr Owl? He's a wise one. Maybe he can help.

If someone doesn't manage the herd Mother Nature will and her methods are very very painful and hard on the animals.( ex. disease, starvation)

Thanks Grizzly. The northern part of new jersey has a ban on hunting in some areas and it is indeed a wasteland of trees with no ground animals but deer, bear and squirrel .
And yes deer around these parts is very good eating. Corn and grass fed just like that beef you paid 8$ a pound for at the jewel.

People Enjoy Tasty Animals. It's worked for man since the beginning of time. Why change what were are ? Omnivores are much more diverse and likely to survive . Plus if we were supposed to still eat grass and the like our appendics would still work. gotta go my venison is on the grill, yummy!

What if the deer had the rifles ????? Cull a few humans...would they ?? Nah...let's herd the dumb animals into a trap and let the great white hunters pickum off like fish in a barrel. Real sporting of them ! Stevie Wonder could do just as well as one of their "sharpshooters".

It doesnt take a rocket scientis to see the cupboards are bare before winter sets in in these preserves and the lands all around them. The browse lines are as evident as possible and these lines r not made by squirrels with giraffe necks.

Kathy Konicki says to the media that the results of the culling referendum "will be as accrate as possible read on the values and sentiments of the residents in my district.".

That is a rather telltale thing regarding the residentsconsidering the fact that the problem of the ever growing population of homosexual perverts in the preserves has never been addressed or spoken out against by Kathys residents.

Are their disgusting presence and activities something her residents have come to enjoy seeing also? As well as the condom wrappers, used condoms lubricant containers and paper toeels they leave behind?

What are the values and sentiments on this Kathy? Do the residents now say leave our deer - and queers - alone?

Great values. How proud can you be to represent such people? People who speak out against an effort to balance nature while petverts roam freely?
Very creepy

Those pervs should be thinned out that is for sure. thin until they're gone. Those people are very creepy just sitting in their cars staring and then following other men into the woods.

THEY ARE SICKENING!

I can't believe the police don't do anything to curb that stuff. And if they are doing anything it is not enough!
