Typical of bureaucrats. But I also have to say typical of Steve Brewer, he is always there for his district, I wonder whereBob Rice is on this?

Renovation is good money after bad. The school needs to be leveled. We went through this with Oakmont. It would have been better and cheaper to build a new school rather than rehab the old building (this was the State's fault, not ours). Briggs has many problems including ventilation, possibly asbestos (such as floor tiles), etc. By renovating, it costs more money which gives us many more prevailing wage jobs, therefore resulting in higher taxes.

Was that Sen. Steve Brewer. I didn't recognize him. Usually he's dancing on somebody's grave. Brewer will support anything. His office sends out dozens on "support letters" each week that go to various offices and entities. It keeps the locals convinced that "he's there for them. doing all he can to make sure their interests are represented." Just don't any of you locals DARE think about running against him. After all, for all he's done for us he deserves another free ride.

If the seniors moved into Briggs it would benefit the entire town. We'd spend less on utilities and less on construction in compared to renovating VMS. Its cheaper to heat an additional wing vs. running an extra building and it cheaper to buy a bigger boiler than to buy 2.

Why is their an assistant principal, is it needed at this school? Is extended day program or daycare needed period, did not need this when I was in school and both my parents worked? I believe that Briggs should be renovated, however some of the items above could be eliminated and save some money towards the renovation and the budget.

Extended Day is a user funded program that is self funded. The district doesn't pay for it or its employees. It's a great alternative to day care.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Taurus

The current planetary influences tend to make everyone groan a bit. Life is not perfect and may be less pleasant than usual, but what can you do? Get real for one thing! That's the way it is and once you accept this, everything becomes much easier to handle. Be solid and dutiful - qualities for which the Bull is renowned - and you'll come out the other side with your halo polished. Focus on some undeveloped potential in your life and take the first steps towards realising it.
