Reviving ancient remedies

In present Africa you had choice between "western" medicine & the regional medicine man, the choice was not always clear. There were fewer outright hoax & con men in the latter. Take the organization psycho-babblers, phscholigists & other gourd shakers that operate in NM -- you'd get better "advice" from the average bar tender. As well-said, psychology, a psuedo-science trying to imitate the real sciences that have some true intellectual content. The world Bar Association has stated none should be allowed in a Court of Law. Then there is the Bagdad Battery from millinnia past. One wonders what they used electricity for thousands of years ago.

I bought some myrrh capsules at Tico's Health Shop. Then I did some research on the web, and found out that Rutgers University is/was doing studies on its efficacy in cancer-prevention. Myrrh was used as a health-enhancer long ago, and one of Los Tres Reyes Magos brought some to Baby Jesus.

Everything is derived from the earth, even chemical creations. Herbs are distilled and incorporated into pharmaceutical "therapies" (that's what drugs were called when I worked as an editor in the industry).

It is interesting to find out what was used in ancient Egypt. Here in New Mexico, we use ocha root for upper-respiratory and other infections. The value of herbs in their natural form for healing wounds and curing ailments cannot be denied.
