How about make the people that sap the system pay their fare share in taxes or cut the overpaid, useless slobs in the gov't salaries instead of coming up with worthless ideas to fix the defecit!!! Oh that would be too smart and too easy !!!

I'm sure this will end up cosing us more money than helping close the gap.
They were designed to hit Russian bombers, not the country.

Yeah, there's a great secondary market for boxes of IBM punch cards and voting records in leather bound journals dating back to the 1800s. The only people who are going to "clean up" are those politically connected enough to get the contract to sort and sell this crap for the county.

Inept Government at it's finest! Sorry Steve but my guess is all the worthwhile crap has already been sold by the denizens of the county labor force.

It seems Arnold already has his hands full with a $20 billion budget hole! I guess he's got his fair share of freeloaders already!

I guess things must be pretty bad in Suffolk if they're floating this idea! What next... we start checking the couch cushions for lose change?? LOL

Why did no one liten to George Proios former cheif enviornmental analyst for Suffolk County a year ago when he first gave this report to Lindsey??? George Proios was the one who discovered this. He planned a project to deal with this problem and bring revenue to the County. The County Executive Steve Levy killed the project last year. I guess this year it will be HIS idea and he can get a press relese for his great insight. It is a little late now that aluminium has hit a low of 17 cents a pound. Six months ago when this project would have been in full swing you could have made some real money. Always a day late, a dollar short and patting ourselves on the back for something we did not do and probally never will. Keep up the good work!

Hasn't anyone at the County accounting office heard of scrap metal? All those rusting cars, typewriters, metal silos can be sold to China. The paper, leather, and other goods too. If they want to maximize a return on this fallow land, they need to be creative and resourceful, something that seems to escape them when the feeding trough of public funds is empty.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Virgo

The world is your oyster. There isn't anyone you're afraid to talk to or any situation you're afraid to place yourself in. The word 'extrovert' must have been coined just to describe you. You're the master of time at the moment, cutting through red tape and getting right to the heart of the matter. If you use the right words, you can make anyone see your point of view, even if they don't agree.
