Quogue Village police officer honored posthumously

No question he was speeding. I guess he figured being a cop, others wouldn't stop him. A Ferrari? Where'd that come from?

Rumor is that he also took money to look after peoples houses during the offseason and that he "borrowed" this car from one of the houses.

Ironic that a Quogue officer is killed speeding... Quogue village is the biggest speed trap this side of Georgia..

Anyone notice how many cops have died recently due to speeding and not wearing their seatbelts while they were off duty?

Those who serve as police officers should also abide by the laws.

You're so right. Officer Chi gave me a ticket for 35 in a 30 and insisted that if I just showed up in court I could plead it down to an equipment violation. What a racket!
Love how these cops are all above the law. And, don't Ferraris have seat belts? Luckily only he and the passenger were the victims. It could have been worse, he could have taken the lives of people in other vehicles.

I've said this on other topics but I can't understand why they are honoring hm for breaking the law. He was speeding and was ejected from the car. Not only did he take his life but his passenger died from his recklessness.

It is a shame this happened but if he followed the rules of the road he would still be alive today.

I guess the department didnt do a good job on this guys background check
this guy used to sucker punch people in the hall way in high school.
he assaulted at least 3 people in one year at oyster bay high school for no reason
he was also a racist, untill he cought a brick to the head
he was a dirty figher, and his punk brother dave used to talk smack and hide behind his older brother

Him and the other lawless thug on the LIE in the BMW are typical cops. They both got what they deserved, one alone but the other taking an innocent hostage.

he did not die on the job, therefore, should not be honored and rewarded posthumously.

besides wasn't he driving a "borrowed" car from somebody's house he was supposedly watching (side job).

sympathies to the family for their loss, but he should not be honored for acting like an idiot and endangering the lives of others.

sure he was a good person,I personally know him, but the fact of the matter is, ask the guys in speonk, the car was a clients of his, he moved it to mow the lawn, and took it for a ride, the client was not home!!! I agree he deserves to be honored, but the taxpayers that pay his salary deserve the truth

If a drag racer had hit his police car, the driver of the car would be vilified by the cops and everyone around. This man disregarded everyone for a few seconds of joy and destroyed the lives of 3 innocent children, amongst others. Live like a douche, die like a douche.

How would you feel if he broad sided your family at 100MPH while he was in a car he decided was his to joy ride?? You can't be serious...
