COLUMBUS, Ohio - President Obama, adding another verse to his litany of differences with Mitt Romney, promoted his record on education here Tuesday and assailed his Republican challenger for advising financially strapped young people who want to go to college to "shop around and borrow more money from your parents." Oh please. Being responsible has nothing to do with a hard working family needing to borrow funds for their kids college.
You think the world is perfect, and you use that as an example. What happens if money was spent on illness. Then they are out of luck? No Fed back loans available? No Pell Grant?
Stop it, you're being fed things you don't even believe. Even "responsible" repub families make use of Pell Grants and Fed Loans for their kids education.
Do away with that, and we have more kids who don't go to higher education. How does that help the U.S. as it competes with India and China or the rest of the world?
It doesn't.
It's what WE did, what our children are doing for their children and what most of our friends did for their children, it's called planning ahead. If we could do it, then pretty much anyone with any hope of their children going to college, maybe not Harvard, can and should have done it. A small policy, growing for 18 years will make a huge dent in a local state college. If ours had gone to college in state it would have been a tuition CUT from what we spent yearly on private school. Also, the number of children who may have lost the college fund due to illness in miniscule and even one such as yourself would know that. Quite honestly, if you can't afford to support children, maybe you should put them off until you can.

So had Pres Obama. But seems like the right have been asking for H.S. Transcripts.
That demand appears on this board.
So, "legally required" is not a topic of discussion, now is it?
Logic fails you.

If Obama unlawfully demands Romney's tax returns, then he must return the favor by coughing up his college transcripts.

All is fair in...war.

LOL.... Meanwhile, you defend Romney for not wanting to release taxes like everyone does.

But you want a special request to see the President's Harvard grades?

Why is that?

4 more years of Bush policies? Hmmmm...no thanks. I'll pass. We're just now pulling out of the recession left behing by 8 years of it. I have no desire to reinstate those same policies.
We need someone who can govern in the White House. Not a businessman who only cares about the bottom line and rewarding executived obscene bonuses for failure.
OK...you're a certified idiot.

Plenty of taxpayer-funded executive bonuses and bogus "green" and other investments have been made under Obama's watch.

What is it if it's not "force-able" rape?

Can anyone answer that? I can't get a repub to define the other type of rape. But the wording is in the Paul Ryan/Crazy Akins co-authored Bill.

LOL

....no need to address Akins saying "I think there should be SOME punishment for the rapist". What a repugnican.

Hmm...I have a link that I need to post related to you. If I recall correctly, you are part of the 1%...well rather your husband is. You don't do anything. Get a job you lazy ass and stop whining to the government for one. Again...at least those clerks are out there working. Were you able to buy another Coach purse this year with your husband's money?
I'm almost 66, I do believe I have a right to be retired. I did work, I worked to put my husband through college and law school, while raising our children at the same time. If you want to call someone lazy, go look in a mirror and shout it out very loud. LOL, you lefties, sooooo angry when someone actually doesn't have to work. Don't worry your little pea brain, I put in the hours and paid my dues and to this day have the grateful appreciation of my husband for all the effort I put into his success. Don't be so petty, it just makes you look even worse than usual. What have YOU done for YOUR better half, assuming you could find someone to BE the better half? Dedicated a book to her, my husband did, by any chance? Given her whatever she wanted within reason? Hmmmmm? Come on big boy, you who like to jeer with glee and call names, what have YOU done, above and beyond the call of duty for YOUR loved one?

Compare that total cost to what we spend in Grants and loan guarantees.

Quite honestly, thats like telling a farmer in the Midwest, if you can't afford to support your farm, don't ask for federal funds if there is a drought.

Seriously, bottom line, Romney has no clue if he thinks most U.S. families are in a position to loan their kids College tuition.

Thats his family, but the average family makes use of loans, grants, FEDERAL and non SCHOLARSHIPS, etc when the can.

Thats a fact. But in your opinion, those families are "not responsible" if they don't have all the cash on hand to pay for college. I disagree.

What's your point? President Obama spent trillions at home instead of on Iraqis and Halliburton? Oh the shame......
At home? Fkn idiot.

Chinese solar panels are not "at home!"

Obama’s $787-billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funneled millions of federal dollars to companies that shipped American jobs overseas. One fact to remember is that, North Carolina-based LED manufacturer Cree Inc., reaped $39 million through a stimulus-funded tax credit program in January 2010. In November 2009, the company built a manufacturing plant in Huizhou City, China, which is home to more than half of the Cree’s employees.

Japanese wind energy firm Eurus Energy, whose American subsidiary is Eurus Energy America.“Eurus Energy America, received $91 million in stimulus money for its Bull Creek wind farm in Texas,” cited a 2010 report by American University.“The farm consists of 180 Mitsubishi turbines.”

Solar power firm Sempra Energy was awarded a whopping $337-million loan guarantee to supply panels for a solar power array in Arizona. However, while Sempra is based in California, the company purchased its solar panels from the Chinese solar giant Suntech.

500-million loan guarantee to Finnish automaker Fisker Automotive. A component of the Energy Department’s alternative-fuel vehicle program, the loan was intended to bolster Fisker’s presence in the U.S. manufacturing market. However, claiming it was unable to find a viable location in the United States, Fisker never built a domestic facility, deciding instead to cease its U.S. operations and continue building vehicles in Finland.
