The thing is that it is a common occurrence for snakes to wind up in laundry or bed anywhere third world at which time all the natives beat the snake with sticks and dogs bite at it while chickens cluck themselves into a fluster if it's out in the yard; unlike the good ol' USofA where some red neck kid bought a snake online and had it shipped to him or picked it up, then let it loose into a subdivision to swallow another kid or dog or cat or something.

What was really amazing is the comment one of our local anchors made as he was closing out the coverage of this story. I don't think it was Channel 39.:)

His female colleague posed the question: "Gee I wonder how the snake got into the washer?"

The guy explained- perfectly seriously- that many times people get these snakes as babies, grow tired of them, flush them down the toilet and then the snakes grow to adulthood in thew water pipes and eventually get squirted into washing machines. He wasn't kidding. I leave it at that. ;D

Me either. Whew, I would have had a heart attack for sure. I wonder how it ended up in the washer. There is a pump that pumps the water in that would have chopped it up. Things that make you go HMMM.

The explanation that the snakes came through the water pipes is ridiculous. An eight foot python would have a diameter of four inches or so. Water pipes would be a maximum of 3/4 in. Didn't happen that way. Poster Chris nailed it when he commented on this.

Snake probably got into the washer the same way that clothes do - through the door.

remember the scam the person tried with the needle in the pepsi can and it was exposed that he shoved the needle in himself. wonder how one could profit from dropping a snake in their washing machine. but Skeptic is right. plumbing lines coming into residences arent wide enough to support a python of that girth.
