I knew I was gay as a preteen. Most gay boys struggle against their natural urges, denying what they are, wishing they could be "normal." Maybe out of desperation they get married and try to "make" themselves straight, or at least bi. By the time they finally come to accept themselves for who and what they are, it's too late to be true to themselves without devastating a new family. Helping gay kids come to acceptance before they go through all that can't be a bad thing! Barely a teenager, gay, and accepting, Shay

Apparently, you didn't bother to read the article before responding...or perhaps you are simply incapable of reading? Pre-teen children who already identify as gay (no coercion on the part of an adult) are being invited to a summer WRITING program. Only a twisted soul could turn this into a "baby-marrying" scenario. It is not uncommon for pre-teens to know their sexual orientation. I certainly would have known I was gay VERY young, had sexual orientation been openly discussed when I was child. As it was, I knew I was "different" from at least the age of 5, and all of my early crushes were on male celebrities. Just like pretty much every girl in my 4th grade class, I had a huge crush on Davy Jones of the Monkees. The idea that young people cannot be certain of their sexual orientation is ridiculous. _DiMz_ wrote: <quoted text> arnt you like 10 years old? being inside the another woman pre-birth as a female does not make you gay. i guess soon it will be okay for pedo's to marry infants the way this gay forum thinks

ANOTHER reply to something you haven't read! I'm not a lesbian. I'm a gay BOY (which you would know if you had bothered to read much of anything in these forums). Yes, I WAS molested by my STRAIGHT, womanizing, bastard father after he got fired and my mother left us, and I took her place - first in the kitchen, and later in his bed. I was 11 years old. My adoptive parents (both openly BISEXUAL) have NEVER molested me, nor tried to MAKE me gay, straight, or otherwise. In fact, I bet that EVERY gay parent probably hopes their kids will grow up to be STRAIGHT because the world is such a hostile place for gay kids. Slumber parties? Oh yeah. Very little slumber goes on until way late though, because my BOYfriend and I can't keep our hands off each other. Oh, one more thing: I was gay BEFORE my STRAIGHT, womanizing bastard father molested me. I have always been very feminine and have always loved being mistaken for a girl and being called "pretty." THAT, I believe, was the biggest factor in my STRAIGHT, womanizing bastard father's drunken choice to take me when the women and money ran out. No one but God MADE me gay. And I'm GLAD he did. Next time READ a little before you reply. YOU are making a bigger fool of yourself than anyone else could make of you. -Shay

Hey I’m 16 and to the 13yo...are you a complete idiot??? Honestly, it's either that or entrapment for any sicko that reads too far into that...anyway back on topic...I have learned some things in the past 3 years, people are inherently born sexual, so why is it that people stress so much over a prefix...homo, hetero, bi; do any of these really matter next to the happiness, well-being, and self confidence of these children. People need to learn to live their lives in a state of acceptance and understanding for the choices made by those around them (I understand how naive that sounds). I mean if someone is doing heroine or becoming anorexic that is one thing but to become so hyped over what children's/teens' sexual preference is, is outrageous. The beauty of life is the learning process; we discover who we are through a complicated rigor of trial and error, eventually coming to a solid conclusion. We as kids have more than enough stress thrown upon us because of school, religion, and each other; having adults put their overly bias two sents and overzealousness into the subject matter only makes matters worse. Let us live our lives, and understand that it is our choice to make. Understandably there is this whole "hype" to being gay right now, be it as a means of rebellion or conformity. However, in the 1950's it was rock n' roll, and Mo' Town that was rebellious and controversial. Eventually this too will settle down into a widely accepted niche. My story is simple...I knew that I was interested in men when I was four, one of my first crushes was on the guy Zack from Saved by the Bell. Anyway, I didn't learn until later in life (11) what that meant about what I was...and read carefully I say what because WHO I am is not defined by what I am...and how I would be prosecuted because of it. In many ways I was right to worry, but I learned that being gay doesn't dictate your life, the future or any of the choices you have to make. For instance no one truly knows what the future holds, and because of that I may end up with a woman. That is not because I am bisexual but because I understand that love can come from anywhere and should not be denied nor persecuted simply because of gender issues. Life is living; don't stifle the chance through stress! Oh and btw, shyhead that is great that you are comfortable with yourself! P.S. that whole toy thing I find to be ignorant of the fact that children will play with anything until society dictates to them what is "right" or "wrong" for them as a boy or girl to play with...let them be kids and enjoy life, that is it!

Also to coy boy...the 13 year old person I was referring to was on the second page of the discussion...just so you don't get insulted if you read the previous post. I also respect your strength in telling us what happened to you. Don't get upset at dimz...he is being closed-minded, and is just trying to get a reaction out of you that he may be able to use at a later point in time. Just mock him by looking at his avatar picture thingy and realizing that it is of two football players doing it doggy-style on a field...lmao!!! Not to get on Verad's bad side but, I disagree with your statement of "marriage should be for all". It is simply because marriage is an archaic tradition founded by the Old Testament (a.k.a. Torah) to ensure wedlock between man and woman. It is almost comical to think that it will ever be changed...because politics and religion have no right meddling in each others' affairs. What I do find perfectly acceptable are civil unions. This is not a case of "a rose by any other name never smelled as sweet". It is a non-religious marriage in which partners gain all the economic and civil/political rights as a married couple. They are viewed by the gov't in the same light. I don't understand why people can't accept that as a reasonable solution. The governing body of America at this point simply needs to pull its head out of the ass of its religious shackles and actually do what is politically right.
