North Central Regional Jail

If everyone who belongs in jail was in jail, we'd have more jails than schools and homes.

I just think it is sick that are tax dollars have to pay for their lawyers and stay. Our schools could be using this money. We need to hand them a big bill then they might think twice. But its the us were the hard workers give the loosers a free ride.

They should be earning their keep. There must be something they can do to be productive while they are in there.

My brother is currently being housed in the regional @ Sutton. The pod he is in is so full there isn't anuff room for all the men to have beds. He also says its worse than huttonsville. I would like to know why some of these prisioners have not been released on parole or home confinment if they have not committed a violent crime?

Previous comment about 21 Officers beating an inmate is just absurd, seeing that most of these facilities operate with a shift of 18 or less. Most of these posts in which these 18 officers are assigned cannot be left for any reason. Yeah occasionally, there is an asshole Officer, but that is with everything. There is good and bad officers, just like there are good and bad inmates. As far as the ruthless beatings while being restrained, and being treated like a dog. I just find that to be exaggerated.

I have been reading some of your comments, some of which greatly entraged me. I am a college grad with a degree in criminal justice and ironically found myself in the system for a dui. I am an alcoholic and have spent every day for years struggling with this disease. Anyone who thinks an addict would choose this lifestyle and that it should be punished by jail time needs to better educate themselves on addiction. The treatment at NCRJ is a degrading, humiliating experience, and not at all aimed towards rehabilitation. If it is necessary to incarerate an addict, then give them the proper treatment for addiction while there. Locking us up w/out learning how to fight this disease is useless and doesn't teach us a thing.

You have a very valid complaint. Treatment should be provided. But who's going to pay for it? Nobody want's their taxes increased but they also don't want addicts living here either. I do not want to be driving on the same road as someone who has been drinking or using drugs. I hope you have been able to get help for your addiction. I know from experience that even when someone wants help, here in WV, it's almost impossible to get adequate treatment.

You speak of people "that know nothing about it" in regards to what goes on at that place, but, how much about this jail do you really know? Other than your FRIENDS DAD works there. Of course, he wouldn't tell you the REAL story of what's going on in there!! People on this site that are speaking of what goes on in there are either the inmate themselves (which definitely know more about it than you) or an inmates close friend or family member, so before you start talking about what you think doesn't go on in there, you need to get the REAL truth!

Hey! It's jail, it's called inprisonment. It's where you go when you break the law. As a former Prison Chplian, I never knew anyone in prison that belonged there (according to them).

If all these allegations were founded, then you would certainly have read in the papers. The news media thrives on stories like thyese, if thier found to be true.

yes alot of ones in jail are for stupid reasons,, but its the law,,, an they broke it,, whether it be dui,,,, childsupport,,robbery,,, whatever they should have known better,,, its the price u pay,,,,
