I think this is great! Expose the liberal leanings of u-mass and the
inefective governor of the commonwealth.
I feel i wasted my vote for the governor but, will not make the same mistake twice!

Could the UMASS folks be myopic and have a left leaning agenda? Could that be true?. We send our children and money there for "Education", to broarden their perspective. I suppose hearing how and why we should destroy and kill is one view. Do they ever encourage another view?

Southie's firm grasp on reality and truth may be able to clarify this for us.

Nice try to get the SOA in the topic, the school has been blamed for everything from HIV to Crack to all the Coupes in C. and S. America. The guy was a Marxist, he would have protested anything the US did, period. While we did some unsavory things in the Cold War period it was in fact a struggle for survival and this guy would have done whatever he could have done to help the other side, ie; the Soviets. While I agree with your comments about free speech, to compare what he did with accusations, none proved and most are conspiracy theories, on the SOA is just silly and ill informed. Moral Relativism is not a good concept to embrace, let that go, it only seeks to justify evil actions.
PS-the Crazy Marxist still thinks it is a great philosophy! lol An Un-repentant terrorist in the US!? Wow! Shocker! lol So many hate it here so much that they do not want to live any other place! lol! Typical

Vietnam was a struggle for survival?

Korea was a struggle for survival?

Buying into that debunked government line is an excuse not to think. Look out! There's a commie under the bed! One in the closet! Your best friend could be a commie! AHHHH! COMMIES EVERYWHERE!

I thought they were conflicts on the other side of the world in other peoples' backyards that had little strategic value...

Boy did you set me straight!

the only fool here is YOU. I work here and most of your esteemed phd holding acid heads are byproducts of the 60's, their time has passed.
free speech is one thing and i am exercising my right to it here but coddling murderous radicals goes too far. i bet you wish were at WACO or RUBY RIDGE to stand along side those fanatics. Your the type to excuse bin laden as a product of a corrupt capitalist society. why dont you do the world a favor and move to china. they know how to deal with radicals like you. ONE ROUND OF 11.5mm TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD.

Who's the one talking about putting a bullet into my head simply on the basis that I disagree with you? SOUNDS RADICAL TO ME!

Those "esteemed phd holding acid heads are byproducts of the 60's, their time has passed" is a youthful and ignorant opinion that completely devalues their experience...something which you sorely lack.

Do I detect a bit of jealousy because they have phds and you do not? Are you a maintenance guy or something?

Playing into his hands so to speak by not letting him come and speak. Is there not anyone at the university to question this man's actions of the past. My question to him would be - How do you justify your actions of killing people?
And then I would ask him to respond to this scenario. Would you still do it again if the person being killed was your grandchild instead of the police officer?
That was my point, but you summed it up much more nicely.

Seriously, what is a terrorist, murdrer that's unrepentant going teach the students about? Once again, the liberal, anti-Americam mindset needs to be squashed on these campuses. Blowing up county courthouses is nothing to be proud of nor should that mentality be taught on our State College campuses. Shame on any faculty that supported the lecture.

The guy advocated murder as a method of political change and tries to portray it as free speech. The world would be a much better place if his mother aborted him. The same is true for those that invited him to make the speech.
In the spirit of Free Speech who are the names of those who invited him and what are thier phone numbers and email address. I think it would be appropriate if they got a little free speech.
Our leaders have been applying the same strategies since the creation of the Republic. Ok, right, war is not murder per se. Instead it's the attempted eradication of a political nation-state. The "collateral damage" would be otherwise known as murder in civilian language. But I digress. Free speech does not give one the right right to harrass and persecute another because of his or her beliefs either. Try using persuasive arguments in a public forum. Or have you learned from our government that threats are an effective tool of suppression?

lmao, yeah, we should have just let the Communists move on over every country in the world until it was just in N. America and the Western Europeans. You are 100% right, we should NEVER get involved in things that do not concern us directly ;) The whole Cold War things was just a figment of my imagination, you are right, the USSR was never a threat, there were no spies in place in the gov't, in Hollywood, etc..I mean, sure, de-classified KGB files say different, but what do they know right? lol Where did you go to school and learn your history and world view? "The Friends Academy" ? lol Did someone's parents teach them that the big bad US Gov't is really all to blame for everything bad in the world and that you must "resist" the vile indoctrination that goes on in the US? Just make sure you still live here, enjoy it and not live any place else because that is for poor people who you will one day save from themselves? ;)

While I agree with you that the first amendment should be paramount in this discussion, those same PhDs you are defending are notorious for driving out the other view points that they do not agree with. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, no problem with the idiot speaking but they should be just as open to opposing views and they are not. UMass is always on FIRE's web page as being a joke for Freedom of Speech. Those same professors whose lives have been so "full" and who you accuse the other poster of acting in a manner that "devalues their experience", have pretty much lived in a fish bowl since going for and getting there PhDs. Heck, I even had a few admit that to me out of class. So, yeah, the guy should be allowed to speak but only if they are going to do the same for everyone and let's not put these Prof's on a throne either, most have very little real world experience and really are only sounding boards for each other.

How do you think these Amherst types would react if Glenn Beck were scheduled to speak? Would they support his free speech?
Beck, Palin and former democrat Leiberman would never be allowed to speak. Liberals are very selective who they grant freedom of speech to. It helps if you are a terrorist and hate your country.
