Shame on him!!! I was there for the aftermath and he could have killed the cop and the innocent person stuck with the car!!! What an a$$. I had chills when i arrived at the scene. I am an EMT and thought the officer was killed. His speedometer was stuck at 80 mph after the accident. Put this bastard away...2nd offense!!! You slob!!!

Now, now......think of the children. This man is a good educator. He made a mistake, let's forgive and let him do his job.

Well at least the cop is ok.

Everyone makes mistakes...even the apparently perfect people that post on this board. Just a very bad decision...hope it all works out.

It all of our fault. He was probably distraught over not getting the tax increase the school really needed.

This could of been any of us on the side of the road who got slammed into. This man needs to learn his lesson. He could of killed that cop or someones family memember. How do you think the wife of this officer feels? Come on think before you write. Hope this man gets the book thrown at him. Sad story.

Longwood makes Newsday twice less than a month ! ha.. KEEP IT UP !
You think this is bad. Why dont you go to the local bars and see how many longwood teachers you see there drinking and leaving drunk. Note: Many underaged drinkers attend and see them !. The school Board needs to start cracking down on teachers and what is appropriate . Set some regulations i think....

Thank GOD that nobody was killed. I hope the Police Office is going to be OK. It's so sad that no one learns from the multitude of DWI offenses and fatalities that plague our highways. I believe that common sense has ceased to exist in our society.

He has a problem, and that has to be addressed. Let him do his job but after a sabbatical to get the help he needs.

Even if he keeps his job, his credibility is shot. How can he expect kids to follow rules and obey the law when he doesn't? He may be a fine administrator, but this is a serious lapse in judgement.

He should quit and find a job where no one knows him...then he has to stay sober.

Why wait until after the sabbatical? A sabbatical is the perfect time to get the help he needs. Why should he do it on the school's time, let him do it on his own. Remember people usually don't get paid while on sabbatical. This needs to have meaningful consequences for him. Financial consequences usually speak loudest.
