Gunman's Uncle Indicates Family Is OK

While the parents of the Virginia Tech gunman have kept silent and out of public view, his uncle met with an official from a Korean-American association and said he assumes the parents are doing fine.

I certainly hope the parents are NOT "fine". Doesn't the fact that the parents of this miscreant are allegedly "going to work" during this event indicate either a mental disconnect or a cultural disconnect, either one about as bad as the other. If people come here from other lands to earn a living, they need to remember that they are Americans, NOT FOREIGNERS living in America, so assimilation into OUR culture is imperative.

I think that maybe the fact the parents worked all the time and didn't give the son proper attention/love has a lot to do with his rage. I wonder if he hadn't been sexually, physically or mentally abused as a child. By default, I hold the parents responsible for their sons actions. From what I know, they did NOT do enough to treat his mental condition as he grew up. I totally agree with your statement Mike.
