No layoffs here in West Point. They raped our nakedasses when they first showed up on the scene years ago. But we are hearing some rumblings that we may be sold again. Chesapeake filed for bankruptcy, so it would make sense that we'd end up back on their bank-roll.....NOT! Prolly Union camp bound....who knows? Who cares? We're all pawns anyway!

Now that Smurfit Stone has filed for Chapter 11 we have no idea where the layoff will stop. They said they have to get rid of 40 but also say they need all of us to "help the company". One guy thinks SS will drive us into the ground then dump us because it would cost too much to fix us.

What smurfit stone mills are still down or have machines down? We had heard here at Hodge that some of the mills that had taken down time were having difficulty starting up. That was suposed to be the northern mills due to colder climate and stuff freezing up!

smurfit is laying off folks again. i guess to drive up the stock price so Moore and Klinger can have nice exit packages as thye depart. They ruined the company and are beyond wealthy.

here at the mill in hodge, we have been hearing that the company has offered you at west point $40,000 for your sunday pay and the change of your insurance coverage, and that the union turned it down. then it has gotten worse from there. is any of this true?
