Cars should be outlawed since they kill almost three times the amount that guns do each year.

RIP Chris. You color your hair however you like, homie.

And thanks for the pizza slice the other night. It was off the chain.

Matt Burch - to you, no words necessary. You'll have plenty of time to reflect.

I don't know why the website edited my post. It wasn't profane. Either way, Chris knows what I meant.

THIRD DUI! Second marijuana possession charge. Driving without insurance. It would be nice to know what the sentences were of the first two DUI charges and the possession charges. Chances are he was given the good ole little slap on the wrist or maybe sentenced to go through an alcohol and drug rehab program that he went to the first session of and of course returned to court an showed where he was enrolled in the program so the sentence was reduced to nothing. Of course the push will be for stricter laws like reducing the BAC down to .05 or maybe spend more of our tax dollars on alcohol awareness programs or the next foolish idea that comes along. I have a great idea! Why don't we force the courts to enforce the recommended sentences on the books and require a minimum of six months jail sentence for the second offense or maybe a year mandatory jail sentence for a DUI and marijuana possession at the same time. It's sad to read these reports of repeat offenders over and over again of repeat offenders murdering innocent people. I for one am tired of hear the "it's a disease" excuse. OK, if it's a disease then you can start your treatment right AFTER you serve your prison sentence. I feel for the families of these people killed by the soft on crime judges.

I guess we just let the drunk drivers back on the road until they kill someone. So here's a dead 19 year old boy that has to pay the price to get the drunk off of the road.

I didn't see 'driving on a suspended/revoked license' in the charges. He already had two DUIs, two refusals of blood/breath tests, a possession of marijuana, and who knows what other charges.

Why did he still have a license? Does someone have to be killed before the courts will take away driving *privileges*.

This sounds like premeditated murder to me. Third offense for DUI and refusing blood/breath test, second offense for marijuana, and more. He knew what he was doing, he in advance intended to drive after getting drunk - murder!

The judge said dont drive or I'll put you in jail! 2nd time judge says, I really mean it dont drive on suspended licnese with a dui or your going to jail for real!

Maybe if he was in jail, instead of getting a tongue lashing.

My condolence to the family!

too bad they cant post matt's address.......any objections?

why haven't the police realized that more people drink and drive at night. check points shouldnt be in the main city.....

and another thing to think about. one girl (underage drinker and driver) and her friends from lafayette were caught drinking after a football game and all got in trouble. all of them had their charges wiped of their record and only had to do community service. and the 10 days off school suspension turned into unexcused absences. since the girls daddy was a judge, nothing happened......wha tif the school she really wanted to get into found out?

wouldnt it be nice to have/know people in high places?

I first want to send my deepest sympathies to the Mellis family I just saw this on the news.I too suffered a loss like theirs a few weeks ago.My 20 year old nephew Joseph Lee Sahnow was killed in Culpeper County Va. along with 3 others ranging in the age from 19 to 21.They were killed by a drunk driver driving too fast on the wrong side of the road.Although we think its over abd after a while you do catch your breathe after a while of such a loss until you read or see something like this on the news.My heat cries for the family and I hope in time rhings will come to a close for you as I do for myself and my family.God speed !

And the marijuana, as well as the utter lack of concern for the law shown by driving with no insurance with a radar device and a lack of concern for the safety of others by operating a deadly weapon while impaired.

The car wasn't drunk and guns usually don't go off on their own.

This is why 1 DUI offense should lead to jail time! A lady without a driver's license, ran 5 cars off the road luckily we could see her coming and it was also her 3rd offense! She didn't know she was in the world..........

Such a tradegy for this young man to lose his life! The drunk driver should be put away for life. Or be given the death penalty for taking a life. May GOD be with them all!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 12

Sagittarius

You're much more voluble and articulate today, so you might want to have another go at telling someone what's bugging you at the moment. However, don't get so carried away that you end up dominating the conversation, especially if it's obvious that this person also has things that they need to talk about. Give them a chance to have their say.
