Maybe you don't understand how contigency works. If you hire a lawyer to handle a lawsuit for you and you are not charged upfront and if you win the lawsuit the lawyer does get a percentage. If you don't win or awarded any money from the lawsuit then the lawyer would not receive any money either. So, who is at more risk here, you or the lawyer?

Thank you for clearing that up for most people who don't know how contigency works. The lawyers are making more of a gamble than the clients and doing most of the work. There is no guarantee that all lawsuits will be settled and monies awarded, sometimes people will actually have to pay the defendants for filing frivolous lawsuits. I'm not a lawyer but I'm a friend of Mr. Shelton's and I'm not saying this because I know him personally, I'm saying this because he has proved to me that he was/is the best damn lawyer especially when he was here in Waynesboro. I trusted him more for that because he didn't have any "ties" to anybody from around here so he couldn't be swayed, paid or corrupted like some of the others. |

Shelton is a sorry deadbeat. He skipped town in the middle of the night and didn't pay the people he hired. The only person he paid was old pill head Cristy Hollifield and she was screwing him.
