Of What Remains W.Brotherton
I can feel the sun shinin' on my face,
fillin' the holes of my empty space.
Revealing secrets hidden out of reach,
exposing the lies that we must un-teach.
Feelings long been dead inside,
are somehow found; somehow revived.
If for now, just a bit of relief,
from some of this heartache that's been killin' me...
Driving through the lightning, living through the pain.
Singin' with the thunder, falling with the rain.
Deal with what's been lost & what's been gained.
Try to make the best Of What Remains.
It ain't easy for these weary eyes,
to see what is fantasy, not real-life.
And it's easy to slip when you're way up there,
& hard to see at all through a glassy stare.
Lessons come hard; we must teach ourselves,
to buy back the soul you've tried so hard to sell.
Trade your success for some peace of mind,
be here & now 'cause there is no rewind...
Try to forgive, not to forget.
Try to relive, not to regret.
Open up your heart, open up your mind. Try to live & learn, but not leave behind.
