2006:
NORTH HALEDON Mayor Randy George said that he will call tonight for Councilwoman Diana Merkel to resign her seat over a report of mishandled funds at a nursery school where she served as treasurer until February.
Merkel said through her lawyer that she has no plans to give up her Borough Council seat.
